On #BellLetsTalk tell your story. Share your challenges and your successes with your mental health. If you are in a leadership position people want to hear from you, in your words. Lists of resources have their place. But don't be afraid to tell your story.
@President_SSC @SSC_CA What?? Say it isn't so! But I suppose there are actual mountains for you to still climb. I have wanted to go to Utah since you showed me those photos in an airport a long time ago! 😀
To my fellow senior management peeps - wondering what to get your direct reports for this holiday season - how about a donation on their behalf to the Ottawa Food Bank?
I know we can do it. $298 away from $22,500 if my team hits $25,000 that’s 100 fridges filled for a family of 4 for a week.
That’s the best Christmas gift I could ask for. Everyone deserves a hot meal. Please RT, with Ottawa’s help we will get there.

@Onlytakesone20 is a local teen with a big goal to raise $20,000 for the @OttawaFoodBank. It took me less than 5 mins to help out. You have 5 minutes. Donate tonight.
Oh, hello. This thread! Old scary movies are parenting mindfields! Though we did put on the Rocky Horror Picture Show this weekend and they just fell asleep. 😁
I used to ❤️ scary movies. Now I try to watch them with my kids. But I totally forgot how friggin inappropriate they all are. Every 80s/90s horror movie incorporates the “horny teens/ unmarried young adults misuse substances and have sex then die” trope. Hard as a parent…
My friend Kelly has had a tough year. Motherhood can sometimes be so much harder than we expect. Here is to strong families and fierce mothers who keep going. Also if you have suggestions for her re the challenges they still face, pls share. #MothersDay2021#cheo#RareDisease
@jrmstrong Our tweens have discovered the 7minute exercise app that shows them different moves to do in a short circuit. My floors may need reinforcing soon, but they love it.
A v.good thread. Shared with me by one of my (many) awesome staff who feel the daily struggle of remote learning and working from home yet continues to deliver. We work hard to be flexible and accomodating without penalizing staff for things entirely out of their control.
An employee came to me last week and asked to move to 80% time. Her husband, she said, was taking on some extra responsibility and they were having trouble keeping the kids on track during remote learning.
I said no.

@RonHebdon_GC I would like to give you an Instant Award for this #GoC#LifeHack. I host many teleconferences a day. Get ready folks, I am giving you back your valuable time!! PS, fellow bureaucrats read the whole thread! #mindblown
@PYendall@skiing2much@cathcomms I still have the H1N1 reminders in my office. I still remember how challenging it was to educate, inform, and myth-bust at the same time. Add in our current fake news reality and it is even harder. Pace yourselves friends. It's a marathon not a sprint
@jrmstrong On behalf of C+C I can say thank you for answering all of our 5M questions in a timely and always considerate way. Even at 2am. Enjoy working more closely with your two rightfully demanding VIBs. One last acronym for you to decipher!
