Read this!! #womeninmedicine@rheault_m sending you all the love. sorry to hear this and by sharing you will help so many. I have #noregrets from "walking away" from many things (professionally and personally) almost 5 years ago to have my daughter. #choseme#singlemombychoice
Yesterday was a really good day.
Maybe even a career high.
I should be popping the 🍾.
But with every high has to come a low, right? That’s how this works.
Have you been getting your mammograms like you’re supposed to?
I haven’t. 🧵

Hello NephJC community,
This last year has been bumpy. We are seeing the centerpiece of our online community, #NephTwitter, being torn asunder before our eyes and we are left with little agency. We wish we could tell you what is going to happen or what you should do but the social media landscape is changing and #NephTwitter is being tossed around like a toy boat in a maelstorm.
That said, NephJC remains steadfast in our mission to deliver post-publication peer review of the manuscripts driving nephrology forward in multiple formats, across multiple mediums. We remain committed to our almost decade-long FOAMed roots, we continue last year's pledge to not accept support from industry, and we still keep all of the content open and without paywalls.
We continue to push out:
• Twice monthly twitter chats
• Informative summaries of top nephrology research
• Beautiful visual abstracts
• Freely Filtered, the nephrology journal club podcast
• Burton Rose Book Club, Channel Your Enthusiasm
We also are still running the only social media internship in nephrology to train the next generation of medical education content creators to continue our legacy of clear, unbiased explanations of the research and development that are driving nephrology forward.
Every month we are contacted by Pharma asking to support, sponsor, or run ads on NephJC or Freely Filtered. We politely decline each one of these offers because we believe that we cannot accomplish our mission of providing unbiased peer review if we allow ourselves to be conflicted or open the perception of conflict.
This means that we need to turn to you, our users, to support NephJC.
If you read NephJC blogs, if you view, borrow, share, or love the visual abstracts, if you listen to the Filtrates or the Channelers, and want to see this grassroots medical education experiment to continue, please open your wallets and your purses.
The 2023 Pledge Drive began a month ago and we are doing well, but we want to see broader support.
Keep the FOAMed flowing, support NephJC

Subpar care @NorthwellHealth. Lack of interpreter for one and dismissal of another when asking for help with computer device at check in. BTW both happen to be immigrants.
We need to ensure high-quality equitable care for patients with limited English proficiency.
