Shaykh Ṣāliḥ al-ʿUṣaymī says:

Our Shaykh, Ibn Bāz (Allāh have mercy on him) was asked in a private gathering by two men that I know:

"Why did Allāh place this acceptance for you among the people?"

He replied:

"I think Allāh granted me this because of something, which is that I never have hatred in my heart for any Muslim, and if I hear that someone has done something wrong or erred, I make every effort to advise him."

So purify your heart in order to gain a lofty station with Allāh.
