This is a glaring contradiction and a fellacious argument aimed at evading responsibility for complicity in a grave internationally wrongful act: publicly denying any aid or assistance to the aggressors, while openly acknowledging the “technical and logistical” support that enabled and facilitated the unlawful American-Israeli war of aggression against Iran.
Providing 'technical and logistical' support to the aggressors constitutes nothing less than a clear and direct contribution to the commission of an illegal war of choice — a blatant act of aggression and a serious violation of international law.
🇮🇷 In the account Muslims mourn each year at Ashura, Imam Husayn was surrounded at Karbala in 680 CE with a small band of family and followers, cut off from water under the desert sun. The army of the Umayyad caliph Yazid gave him a choice: pledge allegiance to a ruler he deemed illegitimate, or die. He chose to fight.
🔸“The illegitimate one, son of the illegitimate one, has forced me to choose between the sword and humiliation,” the Prophet Muhammad’s grandson is famously said to have declared that day in 680 CE. “And far be it from us to accept humiliation. Never shall we submit to humiliation.”
🔸 He was killed, and his stand became the foundational martyrdom narrative of Shia Islam.
🔸 On Thursday, millions marked his death in the holiest day of mourning in Shia Islam, and a day synonymous with resistance to oppression. It carried added weight this year as the first Ashura since the US-Israeli war and the killing of Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei on February 28.
🔸 Hundreds of thousands of pilgrims filled the streets around Husayn’s golden-domed shrine in Karbala, Iraq, one of the largest annual gatherings on earth
🔸 In Iran, black-clad mourners marked the day across Tehran with processions, chest-beating, and elegies across shuttered cities
🔸 President Masoud Pezeshkian and Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi joined different public ceremonies, Pezeshkian writing that Husayn taught people “neither to oppress, nor accept oppression, nor remain silent before it”
🔸 Iran's Parliament Speaker and chief negotiator Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf took part in a mourning ceremony at the Imamzadeh Saleh Shrine in northern Tehran. He said in dealing with Washington, Iranians would resist “oppression and excessive demands” by drawing on “the culture of Ashura,” as negotiations continue with Washington.

Ashura is a time of remembrance, sacrifice and reflection.
Today, on the 10th day of Muharram, we are reminded of Imam Hussain's unwavering commitment to truth and dignity. His timeless legacy reminds us of the enduring values of faith, service to one another, and the belief that justice is always worth fighting for.
Our City’s strength comes from the many faith traditions that shape it — and our shared struggle against injustice and oppression.
May we carry these values forward as we continue building a more just City for every New Yorker.
Think about it: Darializa Avila Chevalier, who was an organizer at the Palestinian Solidarity encampments at Columbia University, worked closely with Mahmoud Khalil and Students for Justice in Palestine and Jewish Voice for Peace (both groups later banned by Columbia University) - and just two years after that same Columbia administration called the NYPD to violently break up those encampments - has now become the next Congress member to represent the district which includes Columbia Univeristy. Free Palestine.

Israeli soldiers use young boys for "target practice." As in, Mondays, we shoot the stomach, Tuesdays, the knees, etc.
This was reported last year by the BBC and now corroborated by the United Nations' report.
“You're already winners in my eyes.”
@J_Dyer_Official pays tribute to Iran's resilience and determination, acknowledging the challenges the team has faced beyond football during this World Cup 🇮🇷❤️👏
IRANIAN PRESIDENT: “If we did not have our defensive missiles, Israel and America would have plowed through Iran the way Gaza was plowed through, showing no mercy to the old or the young. They speak of human rights. It is a great lie.”
It’s a hard truth to hear, but it’s true.
This is a World Cup opening ceremony like no other... 🏟️🕊️

Today marks Nakba Day, an annual day of remembrance to commemorate the expulsion of more than 700,000 Palestinians between 1947 and 1949 during the creation of the State of Israel and the year that followed.
Inea is a New Yorker and a Nakba survivor. She shared her story with us — one of home, tradition and memory over generations.
Iran must ... and must ... and must ....
But then what?
🔸️Will Germany halt the export of German technology to Iran?
🔸️Will it block financial transactions with Iranian entities?
🔸️Will it impose sanctions on Iranian officials?
🔸️Will it place Iran’s formal military branch on its so-called “blacklist”?
🔸️Will it dispatch warships it does not possess to the Strait of Hormuz?
The truth is, #Germany has already done everything it could against #Iran.
Perhaps it is time to try a different approach: respect.
Respect for the Iranian people and their national interests.
Good neighborliness is never compatible with normalizing relations with your neighbor's enemy, nor with bringing him, his military bases, and his capabilities onto your land. They are two irreconcilable opposites.
When the United States and Israel openly declare their hostility toward Iran, hosting them is no longer a matter of sovereignty, but an issue that directly touches Iran's national security.
The American response to the Soviet presence in Cuba, and the Russian response to NATO's expansion into Ukraine, are vivid examples understood by those of sound intellect — and who, God willing, will strive to keep their lands and their people away from "the wars of others.”
