This decision spares Nashvillians the headache of relitigating an issue that voters have already decided. It would be a mistake for this same group of hired guns to now aim for the August 2027 municipal election cycle, which would disrupt the numerous campaigns for Mayor and Metro Council. Now is the time for the city to move forward with a solution that honors the history of the Fairgrounds Speedway and protects its future.
NC5 Investigates: A sold-out crowd at the Tootsie’s Music City Showdown featuring the CARS Tour has brought new hope that NASCAR could one day return to the Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway. https://t.co/LjZ7Clanf6
@trey0390@NashFairgrounds That boomer’s name is “Karnes” not Karen. Tucker Karnes. iPhone auto-corrects Karnes to Karen, too, so this is understandable….and entirely appropriate. He works for Cooley PR, hired by @nashvillesc and John Ingram.
“@marycavarra, how is it we have 9 PR and lobbying firms and yet they can’t get @nashvillesc mentioned in this story!? Have one of those pissants call out the author like they did @leviismail and @NC5”

The irony here is that 1) this is written by failed congressional campaign manager Tucker Carnes, one of the 9 PR firms Ingram is paying to pose as neighbors or “concerned citizens”, and 2) he doesn’t dispute anything in Levi’s story. John Ingram lied. The truth hurts. Don’t shoot the messenger.
"At best, he changed his mind. At worst, he lied to us." Critics of Nashville SC owner John Ingram say he misled them about support for racing in exchange for his $335 million stadium next door. They suspect he's the $$ behind groups trying to end racing. https://t.co/SM9KWmnv4S
"[@NashvilleSC lead owner John] Ingram decided to hold off on a financial commitment to a city affordable housing initiative while he waits to see how the racetrack situation plays out. Ingram worries a renovated racetrack would compete with Geodis Park." https://t.co/zFoR9QvDo5
When did Mike Kopp turn into Tim Reynolds? It's as if he nearly plagiarized Tim's letter from when Tim tried to tear down RCA Studio A. Mike liked history, culture and preservation then.
We all have our price, I guess....

@BlackFlagMatter@Dan_Schwartz Track is gone. Keep a "drag strip" because the 2011 charter says "auto racing" must be preserved. Paying 10+ lobbyists and 8+ PR firms has at generated 1 creative idea. Mad? Email: [email protected]
@driver84and26@tnnaterau And another on the east side. Maybe we don't need the one in Bellevue or Shelby Park if we build one in Ingram's sandbox. https://t.co/wKJW8bFrNt
@shanesmiley@katielentile And I would not base it on her. She was in discussions to work against the Bristol…err, “for the neighbors” too. No confirmation if she is paid or not, though.
@shanesmiley@katielentile Silly Shane, the neighbors are ok with GNR and Carrie Underwood (we are too). And they are ok with the other 345 days Ingram can host whatever he wants.
It’s the NASCAR race every 2 years they can’t stand.
