Psychosocial disability is not about a diagnosis, it is about the functional impact and barriers which may be faced by someone with a mental health condition. It arises when someone with a MH condition interacts with an environment that presents barriers to quality with others.
A disability is any condition of the body or mind (impairment) that makes it more difficult for the person with the condition to do certain activities (activity limitation) and interact with the world around them (participation restrictions). #disabilityinclusion

In a changing world where social inequalities have been on the rise, especially with the onset of COVID 19, persons with psychosocial disabilities & mental health conditions have been projected to prejudices which have barred recovery and caused distress.
Stigma and discrimination lies at the root of so many problems.. it's among the factors that make us not have access to some of the very basic amenities, services and rights. #MHhumanrights#MHsocialinequalities#WMHD20201
#MHHumanrights This is compounded by social exclusion, stigma, lack of support services & discrimination which makes it difficult to access basic services and opportunities like education, employment and access to mental health services & programs.
How are we addressing these factors? We will have different panelists to answer these questions as all these factors continue to affect citizens mental health.. #WMHD2021#MHHumanrights#MHsocialinequalities
