I really wish this post reaches the top authority of Zomato.

🕔 Yesterday, at 5:00 PM

I placed an order. The rider promptly accepted and delivered within the timeline.

At the time of delivery, I thanked him, and in return, he had a request:
"Bhaiya, thode paise hain kya?"

💭 Instantly, a question popped into my head:
"Yeh kya naya tareeka hai bheek mangne ka?"

But I replied,
"Kyun, kya hua? Koi zaroorat?"
"Haan bhaiya, bohot zyada tez bhook lagi hai. 1.5 din se khana nahi khaya hai."

I confirmed his need—was it truly food or something else? He was sure. He needed food.

As it was Makar Sankranti, my mother had cooked matar khichdi. 🥘
We served him a meal, and his happiness was immeasurable. 😊

Now the Problem 🚨
Imagine yourself in his position:
You visit a restaurant every 10–20 minutes, surrounded by food, but you have nothing to eat.

💡 It’s understandable if he lacked the money for food.
That’s why I’m proposing a resolution and requesting Zomato to consider this.

My Solution (Business Perspective)
Experts are welcome to add value. Here’s my thought:
From Where Shall You Provide Food?
1️⃣ Partner with restaurants to offer subsidized meals to riders.
Ensures wide coverage and easy access.
Riders can eat while waiting for pickups.
2️⃣ Create a centralized place for providing meals.
But this might be chaotic and less practical.

Method of Payment 💳
1️⃣ Riders could pay from their receivable amount.
Liquidity issues solved; access to meals ensured.

2️⃣ Split cost between Zomato and the rider (50%-50%).
How It Works? 🛠️

Zomato partners with restaurants.

A rider who has earned ₹100 since morning needs food.
The meal costs ₹60–₹70.
₹30–₹35 is deducted from the rider’s receivable amount.
₹30–₹35 is paid by Zomato.

I hope this idea reaches Zomato. 🙏

Team Zomato, I’m sure you can think of even better ideas to address this inhuman and everyday problem.

@zomatocare I did not question the fair compensation. I wanted to add an emphasis over the availability of good food through the payment they earn. As I am aware, Zomato releases payment weekly. There is a high chance they might need more liquidity to use for food. Hence option to redeem.
