An apex hospital. Another assault. This time at AIIMS Bhubaneswar.
A critically ill poisoning patient could not be saved despite the best efforts of the medical team. Instead of accepting the tragedy, attendants attacked intern doctors and nursing officers.
Doctors are treating patients—not signing up to be beaten. Zero tolerance. Immediate arrests. Fast-track convictions.

Is MD Medicine the new MBBS?
When I decided to pursue MD in Medicine, it was not for fame, money or titles.
It was because I genuinely loved the branch.
I dreamt of being a physician since school, the one who treats everything, who sees the patient as a whole, not just an organ.
But now that I have completed my MD, a new question keeps haunting me.
Should I do DM or not?
Everywhere I go, I hear the same advice.
“Don’t stop here.”
“You have potential.”
“Without DM, there’s no future.”
“You will regret it later.”
I truly respect those who go for superspecialisation.
But is it mandatory to do DM to prove your worth as a doctor?
What if someone genuinely enjoys being a general physician?
What if I like treating diabetes, infections, rheumatology and neurology all in one day?
What if I find meaning in the diversity of medicine itself?
Sometimes it feels like MD Medicine has become the new MBBS, just a stepping stone.
As if stopping here means you have settled.
But why should passion need validation from a degree?
Doing DM means another 3 years of 24 to 36 hour shifts, sleepless nights and missing life milestones all over again.
If that is your dream, go for it.
But if you are doing it out of peer pressure or fear of being left behind, is it really worth it?
Medicine taught me empathy, patience and humility.
And right now, I am content with that.
If someday I fall in love with a superspeciality, I will chase it wholeheartedly.
But until then, I am happy being what I always wanted to be, a physician.
What do you think?
Is MD Medicine enough today or has DM become the new normal?

FMMCH Balasore stands tall in the fight for justice.
We demand answers, we demand action for the horrific RG Kar rape and murder.
Our voices echo for change as justice delayed is justice denied.

Saddened to show you the situation of Lecture Threaters Of Fakir Mohan Medical College & Hospital. The ceiling has fallen down to the ground, and this happened during the lecture hour, who would have been responsible if it had fallen over a student.
Ramayan and Mahabharat are not for entertainment and misrepresentation.
They are for enlightenment and Spiritual advancement..
The government should intervene when they see such epics being turned into a source of entertainment.

Cheating and malpractices during exams on which future of thousands of students depend is one of the most shameful acts to society. Such rackets must be given stringent punishments for using their power to other aspirants' disadvantage.
