Team Athletics,

I’m writing with a heartfelt message from Seminole Nation. As a proud member of the Seminole family—with a child currently attending Florida State, another who has graduated, and cherished memories from my own time at FSU—I care deeply about our football program and the reputation of our university.

This is about more than wins and losses. It is about our leadership, student-athletes, culture, accountability, and the values that make Florida State special. I want to see FSU respected and admired both academically and athletically, with leaders who understand the responsibility and privilege of representing this institution.

Florida State should be a place where coaching is a privilege, student-athletes are supported, and tradition, excellence, and family guide our decisions. When people outside the university ask, “What is happening at Florida State?” we should be willing to listen, reflect, and respond with honesty, humility, and thoughtful leadership.

To our president, interim athletic director, and athletics staff, I respectfully ask university leadership to consider three constructive steps:

Establish clear standards for leadership, conduct, and accountability.
Strengthen student-athlete support and communication.
Build a constructive partnership with Seminole Nation.

We love this university and have invested our time, memories, families, and hearts in its future. Let’s work together to make decisions that protect Florida State’s long-term health, reputation, and success. Let’s restore and strengthen the pride and respect this institution deserves—in the classroom, on the field, in our leadership, and in the way we support our student-athletes.

This is an open letter from Seminole Nation with one simple message: Let’s get back on track.

We are Seminoles. We are family. And we all have a role to play in protecting what makes Florida State great. By listening to one another, supporting our student-athletes, and holding ourselves to high standards, we can help build a stronger future for the university we love.
