The National Weather Service in Sioux Falls has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Lyon County in southwestern Minnesota
* Until 1145 AM CDT.
* At 1038 AM CDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from Brookings moving east at 50mph

Marshall is included in a Winter Storm Warning from Friday at 8:00 AM to midnight and a Winter Storm Watch from midnight Friday through Saturday afternoon.
It has come to our attention that several “Welcome to …” building signs have been reported as missing. Signs missing are similar to the one pictured below. If you have any information as to who may have taken these signs, please contact SMSU Public Safety at 507-537-7252.
If you have a bicycle in one of our bike racks in the Residence Hall areas, please have it removed in the next two weeks for snow removal. Public Safety will confiscate any bicycles not removed by November 8th.
In support of events occurring on the campus of Southwest Minnesota State University this weekend, the RA parking lot will be closed starting Thursday evening, 10.10.19 at midnight.
Please have your vehicle moved to another lot or you may be ticketed and/or towed. Thank you!!
University Public Safety has received several reports of graffiti and unauthorized posting in public restrooms on campus.

In support of events occurring on the campus of Southwest Minnesota State University this weekend, the following parking lots will be closed starting Friday evening, 9.20.19 at midnight: RA, BA/PE, B2 and B3. Those lots will re-open at approximately 10pm on Saturday evening.
2019 -2020 parking permit must be purchased & displayed by 8:00a.m. this coming Friday, September 13, 2019.
Permits may be purchased at the Cashier's Window located in Business Services or the Public Safety window located in the basement of Founders Hall.
In support of Ag Bowl activities this coming weekend, SMSU Public Safety is announcing the closing of the RA Lot at midnight Wednesday evening, 9/4/18. Any vehicles left in that lot after midnight will be ticketed and towed.
Smokefest closures:
RA Lot: closed Wednesday the 14th of August, 2019 at midnight and will re-open at 10am Sunday the 18th.
Mustang Trail: closed in front of the Schwan’s Regional Event Center from Thursday the 15th of August, 2019 at midnight to 5pm Saturday the 17th.
The B2 and B3 parking lots will be closed for an event on Thursday July 11th and Saturday July 13th. If you usually park in these lots, you will need to make alternate arrangements.
The campus of SMSU will close today, Wednesday, April 10 at 10:30 a.m. and will remain closed through Friday, April 12 at 10:00 a.m. All classes and activities are cancelled. Only weather essential employees should report to work. The Library will be closed.
