It was an absolute honour to be nominated by @skillsforcare to attend the Royal Garden Party at Buckingham Palace. To have our work recognised in this way is a real testament to the dedication and compassion of every single person in our team at @St_Monica_Trust .
It was fantastic to see Cote Lane lit up last night for our very first Winter Wonderland.
Seeing everyone connecting and enjoying the evening together made it a truly memorable night and a perfect way to close our centenary year.
Ending our centenary year on a high! ๐
Last night, our Cote Lane gardens became a magical Winter Wonderland to mark the festive season and reflect on 100 years of care. This event was our way of saying thank you to our colleagues and volunteers for their contribution.
As we enter December, I've been reflecting on what a special year it's been celebrating @St_Monica_Trust's centenary. ๐
๐น Our centenary video captures some of our celebrations and what the St Monica Trust means to people. Watch it on our website here: https://t.co/9zH4cIpLOM
Thrilled to see our centenary beer, Hundred Not Out, on @itvwestcountry and @itvnews. Seeing our residents share their pride reminds me why community and collaboration are at the heart of all we do. Check out the story and celebrate this journey with us.
It was wonderful to have @itvwestcountry and @itvnews with us yesterday filming a story about Hundred Not Out, our centenary beer! ๐บ

It was my great privilege this week to speak at the Global Ageing Network conference in Boston, USA, together with Jason Eldering of Southern Cross. We shared best practice in place shaping - putting older people at the centre of communities. Find out more https://t.co/h1i8RHYagS
It was fantastic to chat with @darrenpjones on Saturday and show him around The Chocolate Quarter.
We shared how important place-shaping is to the Trust as we shared our plans to create new community facilities at our Westbury Fields retirement village in his constituency.
It was a pleasure to welcome @darrenpjones, MP for Bristol North West, to The Chocolate Quarter this weekend.
We enjoyed showing Darren how place-shaping puts our retirement village at the heart of the local community in Keynsham, with facilities open to the wider public.
I feel incredibly honoured to be part of the St Monica Trust during such a momentous yearโour Centenary.
A 100th anniversary doesnโt come around often, and itโs been a privilege to celebrate this milestone alongside residents, colleagues, volunteers and supporters of the Trust.
More #Centenary celebrations! ๐
Last Thursday was a truly special day for St Monica Trust as residents across all our villages and care homes came together for a joyful afternoon of Garden Parties to mark #100YearsOfCare.

Itโs been incredible to see over 150 ideas (and counting!) come in as part of @St_Monica_Trust's search for 100 Good Ideas - each one helping us reimagine how we support people as they grow older.
Thereโs still time to get involved and share your idea ๐https://t.co/cCv9a27WaR
Weโre looking to crowdsource 100 good ideas so that together we can create new and better ways to support not just todayโs residents and colleagues, but future generations too.
Whether your idea is big or small, we want to hear it. Submit your idea here: https://t.co/cCv9a27WaR

This week the โOur Future Homesโ report, compiled by the Older Peopleโs Housing Taskforce for @mhclg and @dhscgovuk, was released. We are pleased to have The Chocolate Quarter used as a case study to illustrate successful integrated retirement communities. https://t.co/Zu6F1zhZsa
It was great to contribute an opinion piece with @vicrayner and the @NCFCareForum for the @natfednews#PlanForHousing series. I discuss how the success of The Chocolate Quarter retirement village demonstrates why integrated communities should be the future of housing.
"Itโs time to stop developing general needs housing in isolation from older people and putting gates around retirement communities."

The future of housing faces complex challenges. We need to commit to not just build houses, but to build fully integrated communities with older people at the centre. This is the approach that the St Monica Trust pioneered at The Chocolate Quarter: https://t.co/fIs5nyGNcL

It was exciting to launch the new Charitable Foundation at The Chocolate Quarter last week. It was wonderful to have organisations and individuals the Trust has supported over the last 12 months, as well as representatives from our apprenticeship schemes, join us for the launch.
We are delighted to the announce the launch of our new Charitable Foundation!
This is the biggest shake-up of our charitable giving in the Trustโs 100-year history!

It was a great opportunity for us all to learn more from the expert speakers on #loneliness, and Iโm looking forward to the next Think Tank this week.
At our last Think Tank co-designing a new charitable programme with our partners, we had the privilege of hearing from expert speakers on #loneliness, including @KateJopling who joined us from London.
Thank you to Kate and the other speakers for sharing their knowledge with us!
Well done @PimmEmily!
I cannot think of a more appropriate advocate for adult #socialcare nursing than Emily and this is a well-deserved acknowledgement of all her achievements, both within the Trust and as a @FNightingaleF Scholar ๐
It was very special to see @PimmEmily be the Lamp Carrier at the @FNightingaleF Commemoration Service yesterday.
Emily was nominated from hundreds of Florence Nightingale Scholars and is passionate about elevating the visibility of #SocialCare nurses.
