The way the Yankees mishandled Anthony Volpe will be used as a textbook example of how to NOT treat a prospect for years to come.
Tell him from the jump the job is his no matter what. Brand him as the future of your franchise even though he hasn't earned it yet. Refuse to try him at new positions when he struggles. Run him into the ground to prove a point even when he's clearly gassed.
Three years later, he's back down in the minors stuck with no future direction as they try out their new shiny toy. Complete and utter disappointment all the way around- and frankly, not really his own fault.
@BarredinDC This is true. The active kitchen also keeps costs high. Places like Gold Clover in Bloomingdale are thriving in part because they’re just leaning into the dive bar piece. And to your point, they’ve built a weeknight crowd of regulars.
@BarredinDC Staying open after 9 in that neighborhood isn’t feasible with the number of families there. 10 pm close on weeknights and late night hours on weekends would work great. This is great news!
He struggled to get through his eulogy for Lindsey Graham--which he was clearly seeing for the first time--and openly disagreed with it while reading, insisting that not everyone liked Mr. Graham.
While walking by it, he casually rapped his knuckles on Mr. Graham's casket like a waiter who's just taken your order on fifty-cent wings night at TGI Fridays.
He fell asleep during the other eulogies for Mr. Graham, five feet away in the box, even as the other eulogists took the opportunity to kiss Trump's ass while he nodded off.
Just think, Trump loyalists: this is as good as it gets for how you'll be remembered someday. This is the peak.
The most depressing thing about loving soccer in the USA is seeing the pattern of everyone not care, then misunderstand, then get hype, then clown on soccer once the USMNT lose, then just move on.
Repeat every 4 years.
As @rogbennett puts it, Cape Verde is one of the most valiant performances in the history of the World Cup. The world will forever remember this team, this performance. Nothing but love and respect 🇨🇻
This is what the beautiful game is all about.
