Yessir! Looking forward to seeing Dave tonight for the umpteenth time and now in the 4th different state! 🙌 [1st time that it’s been the opener of the tour]
And what do ya know? They start Reed today, he goes 7-for-12, scores 16 pts and the Rockets get a huge road win in OKC…
Btw, the Rockets average 117 points when he starts (5-1 record). Lean into it more
The other issue is this team doesn’t seem to have another speed.
2-3 without Steven Adams, including 0-3 when he has to sit during a back to back.
Without him, they were out rebounded by the worst rebounding team in the NBA last night!
Need to be able to win in multiple ways
Another brutal loss. Lots of red flags with this 17-9 team:
🔘6-8 in ‘clutch’ games, which ranks 20th (11-1 otherwise)
🔘1-4 in OT games
🔘9-7 on the road
🔘1-5 vs teams with better records than them
🔘0-3 in the second night of a back to back
This will probably be better for the fans of these MiLB teams. DBH typically does a good job w/ their teams
Don’t love it from the Astros ownership perspective though
But also, my conspiracy is that DBH is some sort of front for MLB & this is all the start of something bigger
Drafting a young QB for a failing coach has become the NFL version of having a child to save the marriage… it doesn’t work. And it’s harmful for the QB/child
No better example than Eberflus last yr. Was clear he wasn’t the guy. Just rip the band-aid off & start fresh w/ new QB
Pros:
🟢Astros will get an immediate boost in year 1 - has happened everywhere he has gone
🟢Hits for average
🟢Cuts down on K’s 🙌
Cons:
🛑BIG small ball guy (22 more bunts than any other team)
🛑Cuts down on power 😬
🛑Had 1 year left on deal. Padres let him walk… 🤔
Great bounce back on a short week for the Texans. #htownmade
Kyle Shanahan has now lost 6 straight road games vs top 10 defenses, failing to cover in any of those, too. I believe 1-9 in his last 10 of those instances. Defense still > offense?
Blue Jays were 11th in homers this year. They had plenty of extra base hits and runs vs the Yankees
Mariners pitching > Yankees pitching
Relying solely on HRs usually dont work either, ask the Yankees. 4 of top 8 HR hitting teams missed the playoffs (3/4 had losing records)
