I've been saddened to read recent posts by school leaders and teachers about the impact of the latest inspection framework.
For nearly thirty-five years now, Ofsted has been a key driver of stress and suffering in the profession.
Accountability simply should not be like this.
@asda do you not let people know when substitutions are made or items cancelled? I needed 20 packets of sweets and you just cancelled it. That’s for the children’s Christingles tomorrow. Why didn’t you email to let me know??!
@PieCorbett@OonaghKelleher Apparently it’s less ‘noise’ for the neurodivergent children. White walls, plain boards, nothing hanging, nothing on a wall (only on boards), nothing around the teaching board at the front. As a ND adult, it grates on me.
It's now June, so I am giving away my monthly class set of a book from my bookshop @ANewChapterBks.
Simply retweet to win, and please bear me in mind when buying books!

@kateowbridge They reteach everything the children have learned from y3-6 anyway. I can’t believe how little secondary teachers know about what the y7s have already been taught. Wow, look at this y7 child learning about 5 pillars of Islam - yep, we did that in y2, y4 and y6! Just one example.

@MrBoothY6@SarahPowers3 If we had a playground like that, it’d be possible but blimey, we literally have a playground and one climbing frame. We try our best but wow!
@Mrs_McK1 It’s stunning. I’ve had to rip everything off and move any furniture from around my board. Too distracting for ND chn apparently. I’ve dumped it in the middle of my room. Less distracting now, I’m sure.
@englishspecial My daughter is moving up to y7. They’re allowed DMs because the stitching isn’t a logo 🤯 But, she has the black leather Nike Air Force 1s and will have to take off the silver tag on the laces, as that’s a logo. Kickers are also ok.
@skylar8137 @BrianPatten69 @teachertwit2@KingBobIIV@CornwallCouncil Oh you’re one of THOSE! 😂😂😂😂 if your child goes to a state school, then yes they will. Same as fire drills, they are a legal requirement. 😂😂😂😂
@skylar8137 @BrianPatten69 @teachertwit2@KingBobIIV@CornwallCouncil Why on earth do you think they get scared doing drills? Were you ever scared during a fire drill? The teachers actually care for these children. And evacuation is rarely the right thing. If you leave the building, you’re a target. It’s based on extensive research.
@skylar8137 @BrianPatten69 @teachertwit2@KingBobIIV@CornwallCouncil No. I didn’t actually. But people flippantly implying it never happens is naive. If schools on that day had not drilled for it, they’d have been even more scared. There are 3 schools in the vicinity of that shooting and they all locked down for a very good bloody reason!
@TenaciousCEEE @_Janey_Jay @KingBobIIV@SingleTicket371 Because dangerous stuff happens! Plymouth gunman in 2021. Schools went on lockdown. Unhelpful, naive, idiotic parents like those on here, give shite advice like ‘run, kiddo’. Kid gets shot. Parent sues school. Teachers care about the children so need to practice lockdown.
