This is Dammy (Damilola) Feyide. She was in her 20s when she returned from the UK to Nigeria in 2017, ready to complete her NYSC and likely head back abroad. But today, the story is completely different.
What started as a one-year service term became a lifelong mission. One afternoon, a nudge from the Holy Spirit caused her to stop her car at a correctional center. She didn't see "criminals" or "street kids"; she saw a reflection of Jesus’ heart. She saw children with doctor-sized dreams living in paint-starved realities.
She started by giving money to children on the street and going to the correctional facility with gifts, but the Holy Spirit kept convincing her that there was more. That conviction led to the birth of Let It Shine Academy (LISA), a FREE boarding school for secondary school students in Lagos, Nigeria.
About 270 students are enrolled in her school. No tuition fee, no hostel fee, no feeding fee, no uniform fee, no textbook fee, everything is provided for free. A standard private secondary school for free in Lagos.
In a society where many children are pushed to the margins because of poverty, instability, family background, or lack of access, she chose to create a place where children can still dream, learn, grow, eat, create, think, and become who God wants them to be.
Today, LISA is a beacon of high-quality, completely free education. While the foundation is built on Christ’s love, the school is filled with children of all religions.
As I shared with my sisters Grow Her Faith Fellowship last week, faith isn’t a wall to keep people out; it’s a bridge that invites everyone in. When we serve, we don’t ask for a creed; we look for a need.
We often ask ourselves, "What is the meaning of life?" The answer isn't found in the degrees we earn or the titles we hold. The whole essence of man is to live for impact. We are stewards, not owners, of the grace we've been given. If your life doesn't leak hope into someone else’s darkness, are you truly living?
Impact isn't about having it all figured out. Dammy didn't have a background in education; she just had a "Yes" and a God who backs those He sends.
I love women who live beyond applause, who are not just building names, but building lives. Women who are not waiting for perfect conditions before they begin, women who understand that purpose is not always glamorous.
Dammy’s work reminds me again that impact is not about how many people know your name. It is about how many lives breathe better because you obeyed what was placed in your heart.
Education is one of the purest forms of impact. When you educate a child, you change their language, their exposure, their confidence, their options, their family story, and sometimes, the direction of an entire generation.
That is why I will always be drawn to people who build in this space, because clarity helps people see, education helps people rise, and impact helps people live better.
Dammy carries all three with conviction. I believe she deserves to be celebrated.
Today, I celebrate Damilola “Dammy” Feyide, for choosing to be a bridge between disadvantage and dignity, between “someone should do something” and “I will start where I am.”
May we never become so busy chasing visibility that we forget the beauty of living for impact, and may more women rise with the courage to build what they wish existed.
Let this be your stir to action: Stop waiting for the perfect timing or the full bank account. Go where the burden is, go where the heart breaks. Just as Dammy shows us, you won't know how deep the well of Grace is until you start pouring it out for others.
Dear Dammy, keep living purposefully and intentionally; the heavens are documenting your impact.

“Tonight, at my direction, brave American forces and the Armed Forces of Nigeria flawlessly executed a meticulously planned and very complex mission to eliminate the most active terrorist in the world from the battlefield. Abu-Bilal al-Minuki, second in command of ISIS…” - President Trump
Overnight, Nigeria and the United States recorded a significant example of effective collaboration in the fight against terrorism.
Our determined Nigerian Armed Forces, working closely with the Armed Forces of the United States, conducted a daring joint operation that dealt a heavy blow to the ranks of the Islamic State.
Early assessments confirm the elimination of the wanted IS senior leader, Abu-Bilal Al-Manuki, also known as Abu-Mainok, along with several of his lieutenants, during a strike on his compound in the Lake Chad Basin
Nigeria appreciates this partnership with the United States in advancing our shared security objectives. I extend my sincere gratitude to President Trump for his leadership and unwavering support in this effort.
I commend the personnel involved on both sides for their professionalism and courage, and I look forward to more decisive strikes against all terrorist enclaves across the nation.

Dear Punch Nigeria Limited, Publishers of The Punch Newspaper @MobilePunch,
Thank you for correcting your reportage on the strength of Nigeria's passport under President Bola Tinubu.
I must commend you for the speed with which you have corrected your earlier inaccurate report, which erroneously stated that the Nigerian passport has been downgraded from the list of visa-on-arrival countries by the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia and that that nation is now inaccessible to Nigerian citizens.
This is most honourable of you.
Under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, not only has the Nigerian passport strengthened on the Henley Passport Index, but the Tinubu administration has increased Nigeria's access to not only Ethiopia, with over a dozen weekly flights between the two nations, but has also expanded Nigerians access to the outside world by initiating bilateral air service agreements granting Nigerian airlines direct flights to Paulo, Brazil, Bogotá, Colombia, Entebbe, Uganda, Algiers, Algeria, St. Kitts and Nevis in the Caribbean, amongst others.
Under President Tinubu, Nigeria's economy, diplomacy, and democracy are flourishing.
Thanks again, and may God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Dear Punch Nigeria Limited, Publishers of The Punch @MobilePunch,
Re: Inaccurate Reportage on the Strength of Nigeria's Passport Under President Bola Tinubu
In your article with the headline "Nigerian passport climbs global ranking, slips in visa-free access," published in The Punch Newspaper today, Wednesday, May 6, 2026, you reported that while Nigeria's passport has risen in strength on the Henley Passport Index, our visa-on-arrival and visa-free access have actually decreased.
In particular, you stated that "The most well-documented is Ethiopia, which scrapped visa-on-arrival for Nigerian citizens in October 2022, requiring Nigerians to obtain visas from the Ethiopian embassy in Abuja before travelling.
The change came barely two weeks after Ethiopian Airlines emerged as a core investor in the Nigerian national carrier project.
Ethiopia, which had been one of the most accessible destinations on the African continent for Nigerian travellers, is now effectively inaccessible by any route."
Yes, you are right that Ethiopia scrapped visa-on-arrival access for Nigerian citizens under President Muhammadu Buhari.
However, visa-on-arrival access has been restored for citizens of Nigeria under President Bola Tinubu, due to the effective diplomatic engagement undertaken by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs under Her Excellency, Ambassador Bianca Ojukwu, the Honourable Minister of Foreign Affairs.
For example, I travelled to Ethiopia on Saturday, 11 April 2026, with my Standard Nigerian Passport, the standard passport available to all Nigerian citizens, and was issued a visa-on-arrival at Bole International Airport by the Ethiopian Immigration and Citizenship Service.
Please find attached a copy of the visa-on-arrival issued to me by the Ethiopian authorities, which is available to all Nigerian citizens.
You may also want to verify this information with the Embassy of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia in Abuja by calling 094618649. Additionally, you can call Ethiopian Airlines at +234 201 501 2411 to verify the information.
Furthermore, rather than being "inaccessible by any route" for Nigerian citizens, Ethiopian Airlines has, since the Bola Tinubu administration resolved the visa restriction issue, increased its daily flights from various Nigerian airports from one to at least two, and now offers at least ten weekly flights from Abuja to Addis Ababa.
So, it is not accurate that Ethiopia is "inaccessible by any route" for Nigerian citizens. The reality is that Ethiopia is accessible to Nigerians by many routes, including Abuja, Lagos, Port Harcourt, and Enugu.
For this expanded access, Nigeria has President Bola Tinubu and Barrister Festus Keyamo, SAN, the Honourable Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, to thank.
After confirming this piece of accurate information, you may wish to correct your reportage by stating accurately to the Nigerian public that, not only has Nigeria's passport grown in strength on the Henley Passport Index under President Bola Tinubu, but our visa-free and visa-on-arrival access has also improved under President Bola Tinubu, in particular, due to the efforts of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and its very stable and qualified staff, and the Minister of Interior, Mr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, along with the good officers of the Nigerian Immigration Service and its Comptroller-General, Mrs. Kemi Nanna Nandap, in conjunction with the collaborative efforts of the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Nigeria in the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, headed by Ambassador Nasir Aminu.
I thank you for your time and your kind and timely action on this matter.

I mistakenly sent 2,300 naira for a product instead of 23,000 naira this afternoon to a vendor at his shop. What’s funny is that I left the shop without the seller noticing, and I didn’t realize it myself until tonight. I had been busy editing since I got home and hadn't needed to make any transfers until I went to buy data.
I noticed I had extra cash, even though I thought I’d spent 23,000 Naira earlier. Knowing that money doesn't just appear in my account out of nowhere only when I’m being paid for a job, I checked my transactions and saw the 2,300 Naira. I realized then that I hadn't fully paid for the product.
I rushed back to the shop immediately not long ago to see if the person was still there. I found him and explained what happened. He had already noticed the error, and I could see the joy on his face seeing me return.. he was so happy he even offered to buy me a drink. Imagine if I were the type to just see it as “Luck”… the seller would have lost that money.
I’m so happy I returned to complete my payment.
Happy birthday to the Cisse nonuplets, who turn five today! 🥳
On 4 May 2021, nine children were born to Halima Cisse (Mali) in the Ain Borja clinic in Casablanca, Morocco. This is the first known incidence of nonpulets surviving birth.
Tinubu will be doing the younger generation of politicians a big disservice if he doesn’t document his political journey in a book form for them to read and learn from. He might end up as the greatest politician that has ever lived in this country.
