@alexolegimas@captgouda24 Also: Seeing like a State of course. Great book. Someone else suggested Foucault. I think Discipline and Punish and The History of Sexuality Vol. I are very worth reading. For a nice supplement to D&P also the Lecture series Society must by defended.
@alexolegimas@captgouda24 If you want to stay in Marxism, try
The Accumulation of Capital: A Contribution to an Economic Explanation of Imperialism by Rosa Luxemburg. It‘s essentially a smart critique of Marx by another Marxist.
We are deeply saddened to report that the legendary Prince Of Darkness, Ozzy Osbourne, has passed away at the age of 76
In a statement, his family said "It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning. He was with his family and surrounded by love."
At his farewell performance in Birmingham earlier this month, he told the cheering crowd simply “Thank you from the bottom of my heart.”
For us and all metal fans around the world that day, the feeling was mutual.
RIP to a one of a kind legend. And thank you.
@alexolegimas New Bazaar and Capitalisn‘t (Podcasts). Other podcasts with occasional Econ stuff which I think are generally quite good: Plan English, Past Present Future and Good on Paper
I am so sorry to hear that Victor Norman passed away. His unpublished, handwritten 1976 paper on “new trade theory” was a gem. His book with Avinash Dixit is still on my reading list 40+ years on. Also, a really nice guy. RIP Victor.
