Please REPOST to SHARE this Powerful international solidarity intervention by @AppgZimbabwe co-chair @jonny_oates moments ago in the @UKHouseofLords during the King’s speech debate.
Lord Jonathan Oates spoke about the shrinking democratic space and importance of solidarity with people who are standing up for their freedom.
He specifically mentioned the #Avondale78 including the sad case of Tambudzai Makorero a young mother whose kid was killed due to the @PoliceZimbabwe attack on a lawful and peaceful meeting by opposition party members commemorating the day of the African Child on June 16 2024. This poor mother is nursing critical injuries in jail as her bones were broken during this attack and the Zimbabwe government denied her the opportunity to attend her baby’s funeral.
The #Avondale78 were wrongly denied bail and are languishing in pre-trial incarceration in jail.
He also raised the the issue of the #Zinasu44 who were attacked and tortured yesterday as they were having one of their routine meetings and their arrest including that of @Zinasuzim president @EmmanuelSitima7.
This all out assault on democracy ahead of the @SADC_News summit in August should be condemned by all right thinking people.
Zimbabwe will be free!!!

Dear Africans,
This is Tambudzai Makororo, one of the 74 Zimbabwean political prisoners who were severely beaten by the Zimbabwean police, arrested, jailed without trial, and denied bail.
They were arrested on June 16 after meeting at the home of opposition leader and former GNU cabinet minister, Jameson Timba, where they were commemorating the Day of the African Child.
While in prison, Tambudzai lost her baby, and the Zimbabwean regime refused to let her bury her child.
She underwent surgery on July 8 to treat a fracture caused by police brutality. Unfortunately, due to the terrible prison conditions and lack of wound care, she developed sepsis and her wounds began oozing pus.
Doctors are shocked why someone in such a state can be denied bail.
She is now in a critical condition, but Mnangagwa’s regime doesn’t care.
It is deeply tragic that she and the other political prisoners have been subjected to such violence and inhumane treatment at the hands of the Zimbabwean police and authorities.
The fact that Tambudzai lost her baby while in prison and was denied the opportunity to bury her child is beyond cruel.
The international community must take notice of the massive human rights violations taking place in Zimbabwe and apply pressure on the Mnangagwa regime to stop these brutal and inhumane acts.
There is virtually no political opposition in Zimbabwe, so only the world can help this particular lady.

She shouldn’t be in jail, it is beyond cruel, but this is how these FAKE Pan Africanists treat their own people!

Minister you are beginning to be creative with us. Why release numbers midday; is it maybe because you know that releasing them at 20h00 as you always do will mean reporting over 1000 new cases?
@TongesaiS@njabulo_79061@povozim An independent candidate can do everything that a party candidate does. They too can participate in policy making and this does not require a budget.
I decided to run as an independent candidate because I truly believe that council should not be about politics but rather it should be about community. Party politics has made council to suffer and has brought a stalemate in the progress of the City of Harare
