WINDSOR POLICE NEWS RELEASE
Case #: 24-112931
Domestic violence suspect arrested for violating bail conditions
A 27-year-old man charged with intimate partner violence has been arrested for violating his bail conditions.
In August 2024, the suspect was arrested for assault, assault with choking, and uttering threats following an incident involving intimate partner violence. The suspect was released on bail and bound by a condition which restricted him from leaving his residence.
Since then, Windsor Police bail compliance officers launched an investigation and discovered the suspect had violated his release order.
On September 17, 2024, officers located and arrested the suspect, who then attempted to flee custody. Officers apprehended the suspect after a short foot chase.
The suspect, who will not be named to protect the identity of his victim, has been charged with failure to comply with a release order and escaping lawful custody. He has subsequently been held for a bail hearing.
The bail compliance officers are part of the Offender Management Unit, a partnership between the Windsor and LaSalle Police Services launched in March 2024. The program is supported through a grant from the Government of Ontario, as part of the provincial government’s strategy to strengthen Ontario’s bail system.
Intimate partner violence has been declared an epidemic in Windsor and in nearly 100 other Ontario municipalities. To combat this, the Windsor Police Victim Assistance Unit collaborates with community partners to educate the public and support victims.
Recently, Windsor Police and Family Services Windsor-Essex launched the IPV Early Intervention and Prevention Program to identify early warning signs of domestic violence and prevent future harm.
If you or someone you know is an affected person in need of support, please call Victim Services Windsor Essex County at 519-723-2711 or the Victim Assistance Unit at Windsor Police at 519-255-6700, ext. 4879.
Holy sh*t. This new Kamala Harris ad, which will air on Fox ahead of the debate, will mess with Donald Trump as it uses the words of Trump’s own cabinet & inner circle to show how he is unfit & unable to serve. This is so good. Watch & share it below.
@DrPhil@MeritStreet What happened to you!!! You once held respect and someone to look to for common sense. You either are more interested in money or you have lost your moral compass. Whichever it is, you certainly lost your position of authority. I hope you and Dr. Oz enjoy each other.
