Status update a month before the 3 year anniversary, while I can still post tweets I'm no longer able to reply. Still not updating because Twitter is a far better name for what is left of the community that's still here.
The algae situation reminds me of a math puzzle I heard about when I was a kid. Imagine you have a lake with a single organism of algae that doubles every hour and after 100 hours completely fills the lake how much faster would it completely fill the lake if you started with 2?
@GamewithDave Doom but that answer is true for almost everyone. The game I continue to carry the torch for is VR Studio by Domark (https://t.co/f4COGekd8d) I loved that game so much. I used to watch the included VHS tape, I would fill notebooks with level ideas. I loved everything about it.
I'm building a game. Anything with a URL can be a room, anything with a deep link can be a door. Anyone can contribute. I'm having so much fun building this!
@AlfinCodes The first code I wrote was on a Commodore PET but the first time it felt like programming was on an IBM 5150 with an amber monochrome screen in GWBASIC. I was in the first grade and my mom didn't want to pay a babysitter while she took night classes at @Laney_College
@davepl1968 I believe the next step is to have it write a LinkedIn post about how you are entering a "post work" era and how the future is what we make of it. At least that's what I've seen.

@Ukrainolution@thecomputerclan We had Windows NT 3.51 at my highschool during my senior year. I thought it was so cool that it supported long filenames.
@davepl1968 Bought a new Honda Accord in 2013 and I'm still driving it. Already taught one kid to drive in it and about to teach a second one. It will likly still be in our family for our youngest to at least learn with it. I don't think I'm like most people but I can't see how 3 is average.
@davepl1968@emkenobi Not trying to jump onto any kind of hate train but the quote that has most affected my view on status was: "we have a tendency to assume that people have the economic status that they deserve and this leads us to not solving real problems or demonstrating real compassion"
@kossnocorp@BallerIndustry I've been stressed out and produced shit code, this story is believable. My biggest question is what did the company do to help? In the past when things got this bad I would burn out and just leave. I've matured as a developer since then but I wish someone had reached out to help
