Following the 2026 Scottish Parliament election, our branch once again has five SNP representatives. These are:
Cllr Anne Horn,
Cllr Dougie McFadzean,
Jenni Minto MSP, Argyll and Bute
Maree Todd MSP, Highlands and Islands
Brendan O'Hara MP, Argyll, Bute and South Lochaber
Out campaigning in Aberdeen today with a simple message:
Scotland’s energy wealth should enrich Scotland’s people, not Westminster.
Vote SNP on June 18th to elect an MP who will always stand up for Scotland: @thomsonrichardg 🏴
BREAKING: The SNP have demanded the prime minister's independent ethics adviser investigate whether Douglas Alexander has broken the ministerial code
It comes after files showed Peter Mandelson introduced him to a lobbying firm and this was not declared
📩 Every vote is going to count in this by-election.
📮Make sure you return your postal vote as soon as you can to make sure that your voice is heard.
🏴 For an MP who will fight tirelessly for Arbroath and Broughty Ferry, vote SNP by the 18th of June.
We are reducing long waits, improving access and strengthening primary care, across the NHS.
Health Secretary, Angela Constance spoke earlier today about how she wants to protect, renew and reform our most precious national asset.
Watch for more.
Local news matters.
For decades, people across Aberdeen and the North East have relied on STV North for news about their communities, not just headlines from elsewhere.
Now Westminster has waved through the end of that dedicated bulletin. It’s a blow for local journalism, local accountability and viewers who value news that reflects where they live.
Labour said it would protect Grangemouth.
Instead, Westminster has allowed Scotland’s refinery to close while easing sanctions on aviation fuel made from Russian oil.
Scotland’s energy workers deserve better and Scotland deserves control over its own energy future.
Pleased to see that Jack Middleton’s motion calling on OFCOM to reconsider their disastrous decision on STV North has achieved cross-party support & is eligible for a Members’ Debate.
I hope parliament will be given the opportunity to debate this important issue.
Happy Pride Month!
This month and every month, we stand with LGBTQ+ people across Scotland, celebrating pride, equality and the right to live openly and safely.
⚡️ Scotland produces enormous amounts of energy. Yet, it isn’t us who gets the benefits.
🥀 Labour promised to cut bills, but they are higher than ever, and set to rise again.
🗳️ If you think that Scotlands energy should be in our hands, then vote SNP on the 18th of June.
A majority in the Scottish Parliament has just backed our call to devolve energy powers to Scotland.
We can’t afford being tied to the failed policies at Westminster.
Scotland’s energy should work for Scotland - with the powers we need to help bring people’s bills down.
GB Energy was never going to work, and it reeks of the Westminster establishment being completely out of touch with the North East.
Another in a long list of failures by the UK Government.

🏴 Yesterday, Scotland’s Parliament backed a second independence referendum.
👀 Not one unionist MSP made a positive case for staying in the UK.
🤔 If they’re so confident, why fear letting Scotland choose its future? Or are they worried this time the answer will be yes?
