Season high 13 games under .500 and the Red Sox will tell you they’re not prepared to sell yet. Gotta wait! They can still turn this thing around! They definitely don’t suck! Wait and see!
Most recent Red Sox under 25 with a start of 7.0+ IP, 0 ER, 8+ SO, and 1 or fewer walks:
Connelly Early – Tonight vs. TB
Payton Tolle – Monday at DET
Roger Clemens – 5/27/1987 vs. CLE
The Red Sox went from 108 wins and a World Series title to arguably the biggest dumpster fire in all of professional sports in less than a decade. Blow the whole thing up at this point. No half measures. Everybody out.
Truly stunned that Alex Cora is out as the manager of the Boston Red Sox. He ends up 3rd all-time in wins for Sox managers with 620. Never thought this would happen right now. Obviously the team has massively underperformed, but certainly didn’t see this coming in April.
Maybe it’s just a couple friends interlocking lips? You know. Like when you and your boys get together and have a little smoochy smooch at the bar then 6 years later hang out at a sex hotel. Things of that nature and such.
Tough sequence brewing here:
The Red Sox ruined their relationship with Rafael Devers in the name of making Alex Bregman their 3B.
So they traded Devers for a package centered around Kyle Harrison and James Tibbs.
Despite that, they let Alex Bregman walk just 7 months later over a no-trade clause.
So they gave that money to Ranger Suarez (8.64 ERA in 2 GS so far) despite having a full rotation.
And made Caleb Durbin (.204 OPS so far) the new 3B.
And traded Kyle Harrison (2.61 ERA in 2 GS so far) and more to the Brewers to get him.
James Tibbs (7 homers in 9 games this year in AAA) was traded last year for half a season of Dustin May (5.40 ERA in 6 games for BOS).
