You are making a highly misinformed statement and please follow my thoughts to know why I am saying so:
1. There are houses on the site (https://t.co/teDEjyZRY7) as low as ₦8 million, ₦10 million, ₦12 million, etc. If you do an equity contribution of 10 percent and take a rent-to-own plan or 20 year MREIF mortgage, the monthly repayment becomes far more affordable than the exaggerated picture you are painting.
2. A ₦40 million house is not the entry point. It is one option among many. No serious housing programme is designed on the assumption that every citizen will buy the same house at the same price. People buy according to income, location, family size, savings and eligibility.
3. For example, a ₦10 million house with 10 percent equity means a mortgage of about ₦9 million. At 9.75 percent over 20 years, that is roughly ₦85,000 monthly. That is not the same conversation as a ₦40 million house.
4. The purpose of programmes like MREIF @mreifng is precisely to move Nigerians from impossible lump sum payments to long term, single digit mortgage financing. For decades, people were expected to produce ₦20 million, ₦30 million or ₦40 million at once. This changes that structure.
5. On insecurity, reducing every serious policy conversation to cynicism helps no one. The same President is funding security, recruiting forest guards, strengthening intelligence, supporting states and expanding the economy so that citizens can live, work and own with dignity.
You can criticise. That is your right. But criticise with facts. President Tinubu’s housing programme is not saying every Nigerian must buy a ₦40 million house. It is creating options across income levels and giving ordinary Nigerians something they were denied for too long: a structured path to home ownership.

In one statement, RMK, a former defence minister, acknowledges this current PBAT administration has ensured increased massive budgetary allocations to the military and in the same statement claims political will is lacking.
What is it with NDC, their potential candidates, and inconsistency in statements?
Sigh.
When I placed the Renewed Hope Agenda before Nigerians, I did not speak of housing in vague terms. I gave my word that this administration would work to make decent homes affordable again, and that a hardworking family, after years of paying rent, would finally have a path to a house of its own.
Let me account for that promise plainly, by juxtaposing what we pledged beside what we have actually achieved.
1/
I will not stand before you and declare the work finished, because it is not. The housing deficit this nation carries is counted in the millions, and it will take years of steady labour to close, and I would rather say that to you plainly than flatter you with a lie.
But the difference now is real. For the first time in a generation, the whole housing value-chain is moving together: the land and its title, the building, the materials, the equipment, the finance, and the family at the end of it, and no part waits idle on another.
Housing has moved from a welfare conversation to a national growth strategy. Real estate and construction now sit among Nigeria’s major GDP contributors, proving that every affordable home financed is also a factory order, a labour contract, a mortgage asset, a household balance sheet and a contribution to national output.
That is what I promised for our housing sector, and that is what is now being delivered. Renewed Hope was never charity. It is the right of every Nigerian to a place called home.

NAF STRIKES AGAIN! 🔥⚡💥
Air Component of Operation Hadin Kai just leveled an ISWAP stronghold.
Late June 6, ISR tracked 12 vehicles hidden under trees at Cross Kauwa & Ali Sherifti, northern Borno. Terrorists were regrouping, moving between cover, planning attacks along the Lake Chad axis.
Precision air strikes followed, scores of ISWAP terrorists neutralized, multiple vehicles destroyed, logistics hub shattered. Their staging area wiped out.
Yet Another GoodNews 🔥
AIR COMPONENT OF OPERATION HADIN KAI NEUTRALISES TERRORISTS, DESTROYS LOGISTICS VEHICLE IN BORNO STATE
The Air Component of Joint Task Force North East Operation HADIN KAI has recorded another major operational breakthrough in its sustained offensive against Boko Haram terrorists, delivering a decisive precision strike on identified terrorist elements in the Cross Kauwa – Ali Sherifti general area of Borno State during the early hours of 7 June 2026. The intelligence-driven operation resulted in the neutralisation of several terrorists and the destruction of a logistics vehicle concealed under dense foliage, further degrading the insurgents' operational and logistical capabilities while reinforcing ongoing efforts to deny terrorist groups freedom of action and restore enduring peace and security across the North East.
The successful operation was executed following credible intelligence and subsequent tasking to conduct a follow-up air interdiction mission on identified terrorist activities within the area. During aerial surveillance, the air crew detected and tracked a group of terrorists concealed under trees, while another group was observed in proximity to a vehicle hidden beneath thick foliage. Acting on positive identification, the aircraft conducted a precision strike on the first target, effectively neutralising eight terrorists.
Subsequent Battle Damage Assessment (BDA) revealed additional terrorist elements attempting to flee the area. A follow-on strike was immediately executed against the fleeing terrorists and the concealed vehicle being used for logistical support. The strike resulted in the elimination of the terrorists and the complete destruction of the vehicle, which was observed engulfed in flames. Further assessment confirmed the absence of any surviving terrorist movement within the target area.
This successful operation highlights the unwavering commitment of the Nigerian Army to dismantling terrorist networks, denying insurgents freedom of action, and destroying their logistics infrastructure. The Armed Forces of Nigeria, in synergy with other security agencies and stakeholders, will continue to sustain aggressive operations aimed at restoring lasting peace, security and stability across the North East region and the country at large.
