It may be dry in the mountains but there are still a few boot eating bogs out there as poor Bethany found out while on exped. First time I have seen a trowel used to dig a foot out!

Last weekend was the first weekend of our split weekend Mountain Leader Training and Jonty & Dave were out with the team. 3 days of navigating, introducing ropework and steep ground, emergency procedures and hazards all wrapped up in leadership.

A truly stunning week on Skye with Lucy. It was Lucy’s first time in the Cuillin and we bagged 4 new Munro’s over the 3 days.

We certainly lucked out with the weather on our Mountain Leader expedition.

A good few days exploring the area around Sgor Gaoith and Beinn Bhrotain. Including seeing some very well camouflaged ptarmigan(see last two photos).

Ian & I are running our first Mountain Leader Assessment of the year this week. 2 days of looks and hazards, looking after others, chatting about the environment & generally inspiring people in the mountains.

While Ian and Kirsty were delivering an ML and I was out running a HML Jonty escaped south for a weeks climbing in Pembroke. A week of sunshine, quality limestone and plenty of tea shop time! BRILLIANT

12 more trainee Mountain Leaders on their way to the consolidation phase. It is lovely to have kicked off the season for us even if some lower than normal venues were used due to freezing temperatures and snow!
