Oh finally!
It is encouraging that the leadership of the Nigerian labour movement @NLCHeadquarters and @TUCNigeria have finally arrived at the same position the @aacparty adopted long ago.

Nigerian workers deserve a national minimum wage of no less than ₦500,000. The demand is both necessary and long overdue in the face of the country’s economic realities and soaring cost of living.

Now that there is consensus, the focus must shift from declarations to action.

Let’s unite and fight until Nigerian workers receive a living wage of at least ₦500,000.

We must vote for leaders who genuinely want the betterment of Nigerian workers, not those who have consistently treated workers as enemies.

#OnThisDay in 2025!

On this day in 2025, the disgraced former illegal Inspector-General of @PoliceNG , Kayode Egbetokun, had me arrested for leading the #PoliceProtest demanding better welfare and improved working conditions for officers of the Nigeria Police Force, especially retired personnel who had been abandoned to hardship.

He assigned then DCP Akin Fakorede to oversee my ordeal which included my arrest, interrogation, and detention. The following morning, at about 6:00 a.m., a Chief Superintendent of Police was sent into my filthy cell at the Force Intelligence Department (FID) to assault me. During the attack, my arm was nearly broken.

Despite those efforts to intimidate me, I remained steadfast. Egbetokun was eventually removed from office.

The same fate awaits the Director-General of the @OfficialDSSNG Oluwatosin Ajayi, who has recently been deployed to target and jail me because I have continued to speak out against the inept and corrupt government of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Just like Egbetokun before him, Tosin Ajayi caused criminal charges to be filed against me over my statement describing Tinubu as a criminal.

He instructed his prosecutors to seek my remand in Kuje Prison and, dissatisfied with the court’s decision, sent operatives to abduct and assault me at the Federal High Court while I was waiting to be taken into custody by prison officials. He later claimed he was “investigating” the very incident.

He did not stop there. He influenced my detention conditions by having me kept alongside tuberculosis patients in Kuje Correctional Centre and also pursued the seizure of my international passport through the court, using the tactic previously used by Egbetokun.

The DG of the DSS also caused my assistant to be detained claiming she posses a CJI drone.

Recently, on his pettiness, Tosin Ajayi escalated his desperation by hiring paid crowds to stage fake pro-government protests across Abuja.

In my view, Tosin Ajayi has become one of the most insecure Directors-General in the history of the DSS, just as Egbetokun became one of the most insecure Inspectors-General in the history of the Nigeria Police Force. Both, even maintained paid online trolls operating from within their respective offices.

I have often observed that when public officials, especially those in the security sector, begin to panic and feel insecure, it is either because they know their time in office may be running out or because they fear the public is becoming more engaged and that broader public uprising is gathering momentum.

For the past two days, I believe the lawless @OfficialDSSNG, under its embattled Director-General, Tosin Ajayi, has resorted to mobilizing individuals to stage pro-government counter-protests in response to the #RevolutionNOW demonstrations.

PRESIDENT TINUBU DIRECTS EFCC TO VACATE THE COURT ORDER FREEZING OSUN GOVERNMENT ACCOUNT

It has come to my notice that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) obtained a court order on August 5, 2026, freezing the accounts of the Osun State Government. I must state that I feel deeply embarrassed not by the EFCC's exercise of its mandate backed by a court order, but by the timing of the agency's action. This is so because every action taken by an institution of State, especially at the Federal level, is always credited to me, as the President, even when I may not have had any prior knowledge of the action.

Since assuming office, I have consistently maintained that anti-corruption and law enforcement agencies must be allowed to discharge their statutory responsibilities independently, professionally, without fear or favour, or political interference. I have therefore deliberately refrained from directing or interfering in the operational activities of the EFCC or any other investigative or prosecutorial agency because I firmly believe that strong democratic institutions, operating within the confines of the law, are indispensable to democratic good governance and the rule of law.

As President, I am committed to allowing institutions of State to function and take any action they consider necessary in the interest of proper governance without the need for any prior approval. Indeed, that is why institutions are set up by law with clearly defined powers. While I am yet to be fully apprised of the facts which informed the action of EFCC in approaching the court to obtain the said order freezing the Osun State Government account, I am not in the slightest doubt that the timing of the action of EFCC is inauspicious, and therefore I feel compelled to intervene.

Osun State is only a few days away from its gubernatorial election. Therefore, nothing ought to be done to give an impression that the EFCC or indeed any other agency of the federal government is being used to interfere with the election.

Based on the foregoing premise, I am duty-bound to issue a directive on this issue in consonance with the overriding public interest in preserving public confidence and the integrity, credibility, and fairness of our democratic process.

Accordingly, I have directed the EFCC to immediately proceed to the court to vacate the order and discontinue whatever action it has instituted against the Osun State Government in this regard.

Long live the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

The lawless @OfficialDSSNG mobilized paid pro-Tinubu protesters to confront us at the Federal High Court during our annual #RevolutionNOW procession. They were no match for the determination and resolve of citizens standing for justice, accountability, and genuine democratic change.

At the barricade, where the security forces erected their usual roadblocks to prevent us from reaching the President, who remains hidden away in his Aso Rock bunker, we addressed the people and reaffirmed our resolve.

At the appointed hour no amount of barricades can stop a determined movement. The revolutionary movement will continue to move and grow until those responsible for Nigeria's suffering are made to answer for their crimes.
