President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved fiscal incentives unlocking the Final Investment Decision (FID) for the Bonga Southwest Aparo (BSWA) deepwater project. Making it the first deepwater Production Sharing Contract (PSD) to reach this stage since 2008—unlocking $20bn in investment.

For Nigeria, this means jobs for engineers, technicians, and local businesses. It means energy security and renewed investor confidence in Nigeria’s energy reforms.

The idea of making NIN a compulsory requirenent for JAMB is good.
But the point is that the timing is wrong plus poor communication the whole process. The resultant effect is that teenagers (Jambites) are now subjected to undue/unnecessary harsh realities of NIM & Nigerian system
