The trees in our ecosystem are very important. They help produce oxygen, which we need. They also are a habitat for many species. Without trees, everything will fall apart! #apeseco@franklinlorax
Turtles are a mix of k-selected and r-selected species. They have long lifespans and late maturity, yet also have high fecundity and high hatchling mortality. They not only are able to stay in water and survive, but nest on land when needed. @franklinlorax#apeseco
This plant is an example of a primary producer, which is the lowest trophic level. Primary producers are autotrophs and
convert sunlight into energy usable by other organisms through photosynthesis.

To reduce my ecological footprint, I’ve decided to go pescatarian and cut meat from my diet. Raising livestock requires large amounts of land, water, and energy. Reducing meat consumption can decrease the amount of resources used to promote sustainability. #apespop#franklinlorax
@AndyZhu2738@franklinlorax I agree that carpooling is a great way to reduce our ecological footprint, especially if you have a large group of people going to the same place. One of my goals for this year is to carpool more often.
Using a reverse osmosis system can help reduce hazardous waste water. RO water can be produced without any harmful chemicals. However, they generate a lot of waste water so it would be more sustainable to reuse some of that water for other things.
@HM510987apes@franklinlorax I agree that salts can be harmful to the earth. It would help to find alternatives or implement more efficient salt distribution methods.
@RK510980apes@SBFranklinAPES I totally agree with this. I remember the guest speaker talking about how using salt on the roads is extremely inefficient, so it might be better to use an alternative.
@AndyZhu2738 The amount of plastic saved definitely adds up over time. I also really like using reusable water bottles because they can keep your drinks very cold or hot throughout the day.
@HM510987apes@franklinlorax I agree that carpooling is a great idea! I carpool a lot especially if I'm going somewhere with multiple friends. Apparently, each ride reduces CO2 emissions per passenger mile by 50%.
Carpooled with my friend Patricia from the Football game. An effort to limit the growing pollution. Carpooling can drastically reduce the amount of carbon emissions as there will be less cars on the road. @franklinlorax#apesintro
Using hybrid cars is a good way to reduce carbon emissions. This can help fight climate change. Hybrid cars also have reduced fuel consumption, helping conserve fossil fuels. Overall, these effects promote sustainability.
