This cohort responds well to vocabulary intervention and developing inference skills. It’s important to realise that comprehension varies within an individual. This means that motivation can be finessed. Nice work @katrina_kelso….

Poor comprehenders constitute around 7% of students. They decode text well enough, but don’t understand text and therefore are generally not picked up in education as potentially benefiting from assistance Kellso.
These aren’t necessarily a clinical population who meet diagnostic criteria for #DLD. However, there’s certainly a need to look at students in middle primary if we are to deliver intervention that is life changing
