Morning everyone. Half-term is over and we're back and singing again. Today is the last Sunday before Lent begins, and is also #Transfiguration Sunday. #AshWednesday is next week, and then we're into #Lent . Join us if you can.
🌟 Exciting News! The Choral Evensong Trust is helping churches bring back choral evensong with our Patronal Festival Grants! 🎶
87 churches applied—way more than we expected—and we’ve already funded most of them! But we still need £14,000 to support them all.
@ChoralEvensong We were delighted to receive a grant for £250 for our Patronal Festival. Thank you! St. Peter's Day will be celebrated in considerable style in Bournemouth.
@choir_christ Excellent! Warlock's always good. We did Adam lay ybounden during Advent, and 'Where riches is everlastingly' Bethlehem Down a couple of years ago. He had a way with a tune.
Our piano tech (the wonderful John Watkins) was in this morning to fix a minor action snag on the Steinway. It's a wonderful instrument but over a century old - and it shows!
All back in ready for the 1.15pm lunchtime recital.
Between practices last night, some of the choir went carol singing in Bournemouth town centre. And it was lovely. People seemed very pleased to hear some traditional carols amongst the noise and cheer of the Christmas market. @bmouthofficial
