#Story101(fictional)
It was in Punjab, I was a liberal who only believed that social welfare was the key. That day, I was passing by a village, seemed very backward. It was. Suddenly, I heard high pitched screamings. I stood by, to see what was happening, but I could only see people swarming around a river holding sticks, fire torches or anything that they could hold. It was around 6-7 pm. I asked what happened to a beggar near me, he said, "the village has a ritual that if anybody is found to have a love interest that wasn't chosen by the family, she shall be drowned alive." My heartbeat took a pause, I wanted to go and save her, but the fear of people with the sticks and torches overpowered my liberalism. I went near the river, had a glance on her, she was screaming, "Deepak aayega na bachane, tumlog sab maroge, woh tum sabko duba dega." Her voice had agony, pain but trust too. I left, I couldn't watch what was happening. All along the way, her face challenged my existence, it questioned my morality, my entire life and what I was standing for. I reached my hotel around 10 pm. My head filled with her face, I checked in and succumbed to the bed. In my dream too, I could see her, smiling at me, I could hear her last words, her faith in love until I felt something wet. My eyes opened I was inside my bathtub in the hotel, my nose somehow above the waterline, as if I had drowned. Chills went down my spine, I couldn't understand and fear had hold of my thoughts. For a relief,I heard the room service calling, "Mr Deepak, room service?"
@Mrsinha ATP shut up. Look at you man, literally looking like a man without balls. You know the country is drowning, yet, dick riding the criminal. Someday your kids would be fighting for the same freedom that their father sold for money. Can't even curse you atp,MAN WITHOUT BALLS. Peace.
