I’m saddened to state that Speaker @Sandhwan has put my vital Private Member Bill in the back burner on frivolous grounds seeking to introduce a legislation like HP Land Reform & Tenancy Act 1972 to bar all outsiders from becoming land holders or applying for govt jobs without fulfilling legal conditions.

Such laws to protect the identity,language etc are already in force in Uttarakhand,Gujarat,Rajasthan etc so why can’t Punjab have a law to defend its demographic situation,culture,govt jobs?

This is all the more important for Punjabi’s as we only have one home state where we speak our own language take pride in wearing a turban and have our own cultural values. Therefore i urge @BhagwantMann to at least introduce the law and have a discussion amongst 117 Mla’s and if the bill doesn’t get majority it can be dropped but having no discussion on something so valuable is bad precedent for Punjab-Khaira
