On the current WIP song, there are some lines that go up to a range I've rarely utilized prior, let alone without just throwing it into falsetto. And I want to at least see if I can hit them from chest voice as intended.

Maybe one of these days, I'll be inspired to return to working on new music as well. Last time I booted up REAPER was about two months ago. It sort of stalled when I stopped practicing my vocals in preparation for tracking.

The fun thing about having a song idea just sitting around for a long time is you can lay it down relatively quickly once you start transferring it from paper to DAW.

The vocals are gonna need some practice before I start laying those down, though.

Core instrumentation for a new song is all done in about 5 hours - drums, guitars, bass and piano.

Anyway, yeah. New music more or less confirmed to be underway. No idea yet as to how many songs exactly will end up on this year's EP/album, but I can say for sure it'll be at least two.

Finally got some fresh sets of strings for the guitars. They're frankly in dire need of a restringing.

Guitars on the next album are (hopefully) gonna sound a lot better as a result. Not that I'm confirming one is underway.
