In advance of September 30, Saskatoon Public Schools raised our Every Child Matters flag to recognize Orange Shirt Day – a day to honour the Indigenous children who survived residential schools and remember those who didn’t. #everychildmatters
Another wonderful event. Last year we held a special event to commemorate the flag raising at our board office for the flags of our nation, province, and special partners. Yesterday we held a short event outside to honour the flags that fly proudly every day.
On Thursday evening, the @SPSDEnsemble held its first public performance in more than two years, bringing people together in the Evergreen neighbourhood square along with members of the @SylviaFedoruk school community. Here’s what it looked like.

Six days to the pow wow and we are busy preparing. Yesterday @DonaldSpeidel1 shared some teachings about pow wow with our Central Office staff. This morning, we met with @SaskTelCtr staff on-site to plan out the event. It’s going to be a memorable day. #spslearn
Today is Red Dress Day, an opportunity to remember and acknowledge missing and murdered Indigenous women, girls and two-spirit people who did not come home. @PACSTbirds & other schools are sharing important learning about the day through events and wearing red. #MMIWG2S#spslearn
After a two-year absence the @SPSDEnsemble is welcoming new and returning students and making plans for its first performances. Interested students should attending the info session on May 10. #spslearn#yxe
