As for other movies, I watched an old DTV film called The Silencer with Michael Dudikoff and DAMN! It was pretty good for what it was. A paranoid thriller with some action touches and while I could see all the twists coming a mile away it still kept me entertained.
So after 2 decades I finally watched Snakes on a Plane. The snakes get a lot of pub but I love that it's basically a love letter to old school disaster flicks and doesn't take itself seriously.
@gator_gum Yeah, social media can be interesting, educational (sometimes) and fun but it's ruined by a lot of bad faith actors. It's why i've pretty much gotten away from it.
@nut_history The opposite of his father, better at baseball than he is at football. For a majority of his career he was super jokey and kinda cringe but has gotten better the last few years.
2/2 secondly, the Bond we all grew up watching, guess what? It was VERY MUCH neutered compared to the literary Bond who was even MORE of a problem, a total misogynist, homophobic and had some pretty bad racial attitudes.
1/2 So I see ppl complaining about devs saying Bond is reflective of "modern values" and cancelling pre-orders because they're making him woke...Uh guys, Bond is pretty problematic and this comes from a guy who loved Roger Moore's Bond.
@nut_history He was very good early on but as the years went on with Joe Buck I felt he got way too comfortable and got a bit lazy although he did have great moments of insight like G7 of the 01 WS.
Man, I just saw the news about Kyle Busch, while i'm not much of a NASCAR fan it's the suddenness of his passing that's the most shocking thing. R.I.P.
Boo! They should've named them Hammerheads as a sorta tribute to the Late Night Vampire. If you know, you know *wink* HAMMERHEAD ALERT HAMMERHEAD ALERT! ๐จ๐จ๐จ๐จ

So i'm off to bed but I want to put this out into the universe but holy jeez! What an EMBARRASSING way to lose by the Cavs there. I thought the Knicks were done and buried but they CAME BACK! I had a huge guffaw over that...Though I feel bad for Cavs fans. That's a gut punch.
The National Post isn't my favorite publication in the world but this is a good article nonetheless.

@TripleCrown9 10000% agreed. Hell, I want the Astros to go back to their Tequila Sunrise unis or come up with an away version of their City Connects (those are really clean and feels like an amalgam of their 2 main identities in team history)
Look, I don't complain about much but I listen to a TON of podcasts. Can Sportsnet PLEAAAAAASE cease with the stupid ass commercial from the Chief Agent of the Conservative Party ad on all their pods?! First of all the premise is ludicrous and secondly it's just an annoying ad!
@LaurasMiscMovie I don't know how i'll be able to handle my first without my mother. My father was the real movie person in our household. After he died I found solace in watching movies that he liked.
So the Orange and Demon Deacons are opening their 2027 football season at BMO Field here in Toronto....It'll be interesting to see what the attendance will be as these aren't exactly the leading lights of the ACC.
Just saw the news about Ted Turner. He's probably the last of the true iconoclasts. A man who had a vision and sought it out. His beloved CNN birthed the 24 hr news cycle AND he also shared a love of classic film with TCM. Turner had a zest for life. #RIPTedTurner
