Fr Ross celebrated his last service amongst us as his curacy in Wolverhampton has drawn to a close. Please keep him and his family in your prayers as he becomes the next Vicar of St Matthew's, Willesden next month.

Today we celebrate the feast of three archangels, Michael, Gabriel and Raphael. The word 'arch-angel' means 'high-ranking angel'—the same way that 'arch-bishop' means a high-ranking bishop for example.

#StVincentDePaul was born in Aquitaine and became a priest. He devoted his whole life to the service of the poor. He founded a congregation of priests for missionary work, groups of laymen to help galley-slaves, and, with St Louise de Marillac, the Sisters of Charity.

The Church today celebrates Ss Cosmas and Damian. They are buried at Cyrrhus in Syria, where a basilica was constructed in their honour. In the fifth century their cult spread rapidly through the entire Church.

The Church celebrates St Padre Pio today. He was very much sought after as a spiritual advisor, confessor, and intercessor. Many miracles were popularly ascribed to him during his lifetime.

Today is the Feast of St Matthew. He was born in Capernaum, and was working as a tax-collector when Jesus called him. He is thought by some scholars to have written an early version of his gospel in Aramaic, a precursor to the Greek version we now have.
