Mahatma Gandhi used to say that the moral worth of a society is revealed in the way it stands beside its most vulnerable.

That principle found clear affirmation in Nandigram, where twenty-three residents referred through Sebaashray underwent free cataract surgeries at Kalyani Eye Care, seventeen identified at Camp 1 and six at Camp 2.

For many, failing vision had meant restricted movement, reduced work, and a gradual withdrawal from daily life. This was not merely a medical procedure; it was the restoration of independence, confidence, and dignity. Healthcare cannot operate in fragments. It cannot stop at diagnosis or end with an announcement. It must guide a person from need to relief, from identification to full recovery.

Sebaashray was conceived with that continuity at its core, so that no citizen remains suspended between illness and care. That responsibility endures, and we remain committed to upholding it with seriousness and resolve.

বিপ্লবী ক্ষুদিরাম বসুর প্রয়াণ দিবসে জানাই সশ্রদ্ধ প্রণাম।

একটা কথা লিখি। সম্প্রতি একটি হিন্দি ছবিতে বিপ্লবী ক্ষুদিরামকে 'সিং' বলা হয়েছে। স্বাধীনতার জন্য যাঁরা জীবন দিয়েছেন তাঁদের অপমান করা হচ্ছে কেন? পথিকৃৎ অমর বিপ্লবী ক্ষুদিরামকে ধরেও টানাটানি করবে ভাষা-সন্ত্রাসীরা?

আমাদের মেদিনীপুরের অদম্য কিশোরকে দেখানো হয়েছে পাঞ্জাবের ছেলে হিসেবে। অসহ্য!

আমরা কিন্তু সবসময় দেশপ্রেম ও সর্বোচ্চ আত্মত্যাগের প্রতীক এই মানুষটিকে শ্রদ্ধা জানিয়েছি।

ক্ষুদিরাম বসুর জন্মস্মৃতি বিজড়িত মহাবনী ও সংলগ্ন অঞ্চলের আরো বেশি উন্নয়নের জন্য মহাবনী ডেভেলপমেন্ট অথরিটি করেছি।

এছাড়া মহাবনীতে শহীদ ক্ষুদিরামের মূর্তি স্থাপন থেকে শুরু করে পাঠাগার সংস্কার, নতুন একটি সুবিশাল অডিটোরিয়াম, কনফারেন্স রুম - সবই করা হয়েছে। একটি মুক্তমঞ্চও করা হয়েছে। পাশাপাশি দর্শনার্থীদের জন্য নির্মিত হয়েছে আধুনিক কটেজ, ঐতিহ্যবাহী ক্ষুদিরাম পার্কের পুনরুজ্জীবন করা হয়েছে। পুরো এলাকাটাকে আলো দিয়ে সাজানোও হয়েছে।

শুধু তাঁর জন্মস্থান মেদিনীপুরেই নয়, এই মহান বিপ্লবীকে শ্রদ্ধা জানাতে কলকাতায় একটি মেট্রো স্টেশনের নামও আমরা ওনার নামে রেখেছি। আমরা গর্বিত।

Most happy to share that Bengali/ Bangla has been finally accorded the status of a classical language by Government of India.

We had been trying to snatch this recognition from Ministry of Culture, GOI and we had submitted three volumes of research findings in favour of our contention.

Union government has accepted our well-researched claim today evening and we finally reach the cultural apex in the body of languages in India.

ধ্রুপদী ভাষার স্বীকৃতি পেল বাংলা। মাননীয়া মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়ের দীর্ঘদিনের চেষ্টার ফল পেল বাংলা।

আজকে আমাদের গর্বের দিন। শারদোৎসবের প্রাক্কালে, এই খুশির খবরে আনন্দিত আপামর বাংলা।

আমি অত্যন্ত আনন্দের সঙ্গে জানাচ্ছি, আমাদের দীর্ঘ লড়াইয়ের পর আমাদের মাতৃভাষা বাংলাকে ভারত সরকার একটি ধ্রুপদী ভাষার মর্যাদা দিয়েছে।

অনেকদিন ধরে আমরা কেন্দ্রীয় সরকারের সংস্কৃতি মন্ত্রকের কাছে এই সংক্রান্ত গবেষণালব্ধ বিপুল তথ্য জমা দিয়ে দাবি করছিলাম যাতে বাংলা ভাষাকে এই স্বীকৃতি দেওয়া হয়।

আজ আমাদের সেই স্বপ্ন পূরণ হলো। কেন্দ্রীয় সরকার আজ সন্ধ্যায় আমাদের দাবি মেনে নিয়েছে।

অন্য কয়েকটি রাজ্যের ভাষা আগে এই স্বীকৃতি পেলেও বাংলাকে বঞ্চিত রাখা হয়েছিল।

ভালো লাগছে, আমাদের লড়াইয়ে অবশেষে বাংলা ভাষা এই অভিপ্রেত এবং ন্যায্য স্বীকৃতি পেল।
