@Spitfiredame1@Southsomersetdc Unfortunately this notice is actually due to be removed entirely. It was a description linked to a sculpture art project from the 1990's. The sculptures had started to rot and so the ones that were still standing were relocated to the children's woodland play zone. Sorry! π
We are delighted to announce that Ham Hill has secured vital funding from the National Lottery to take forward plans to conserve and protect this outstanding Iron Age hillfort for the future. Read more on our website https://t.co/EC9KRrxDJC #hamhill@HeritageFundUK
Jay, @SSDCCountryside Riverside Walk, first time in 9 years of going down there that I've managed to get decent photos of one. It may be a young one of course, as it didn't fly away as soon as I pointed a camera at it! @Natures_Voice @bto_somerset @SomersetWT@DorsetWildlife
Itβs World Bee Day!
Here at South Somerset District Council we're leaving spaces pesticide free and allowing them to re-wild. Weβre also reviewing our grass cutting schedules to find more ways of creating biodiverse areas for pollinators. The rare Shrill Carder bee is pictured
Itβs waste less save more month at SSDC. We throw away one out of three shopping bags worth of food that we buy and most of it could've been eaten. Waste not want not and use it up! https://t.co/MNJzOynGFi has great tips!
@Charlie76578784 Wow Charlie, you did have an eventful walk! Thanks for helping the cygnets. The Weir always proves a tricky area for them but they usually manage to get back ok. They will face many predators and obstacles as they mature, as hard as it is to watch, this is just part of nature π₯
