The US Iran war may not look traditional, but the outcome is clear: Iran was set back years, militarily and financially. The US also secured new energy advantages, stopped their nuclear capabilities, and limited China’s access to Iran’s cheap resources. The war is finished.

Top leadership was eliminated, including Ali Khamenei, leaving what remains of the regime under pressure and now willing to negotiate.

Back in 2024, I used the word ‘forcible’ that I heard in Washington, D.C., and placed it in quotation marks. Today, the Lebanese government is signing this agreement by force as part of Trump’s ‘peace through strength’ agenda.

When you are a leader, your priority is to protect your people. All of this could have been avoided. The largest European countries raised the white flag during WWII to save their people and cities. Other countries lost millions of lives but eventually ended the destruction by signing peace agreements. A president’s job is to protect his people by taking firm decisions, not wasting time during war. #Lebanon

Yesterday I said things in Lebanon would get worse. The Lebanese president and the speaker of parliament seem to have believed they could outsmart the international community. Next on the target list: the airport, bridges, and telecommunications.

Unfortunately, there are mentally sick people out there who live on hate. Regardless of your religious or political beliefs, leftist or rightist, Muslim or Christian, straight or gay, we should not wish death even on our enemies. We should never celebrate assassination because doing so makes you a bad human being. Having an opinion is not a crime, and debating, discussing, and criticizing are not crimes. Killing is a crime, and if you make excuses for it, or shift events to fit your agenda, you bear the face of a criminal, and you are one of them. In the event of death, no matter the cause, either pay tribute or remain silent. That’s what makes you a good human being.

Israel, in my view, carried out the heavy lifting for the U.S. 90% of Iran’s nuclear infrastructure is gone, top scientists eliminated, and the program pushed back 50 years. Mission accomplished. A few months ago, I expected it to happen in June. What we’re seeing now is just a show to cover Iran’s humiliation. In the world of war, casualties and destruction are part of the game. Lebanon won’t be involved beyond small targeted attacks. Flight disruption is the only negative impact. July will bring summer back.
