• Askren was sensational last season as a Freshman and he's the best TE in #CUSA in my opinion. Last season he caught 19 passes for 224 yards 5 Touchdowns averaging 11.8 ypc.

If this were to occur, it would be a disaster. It would be NFL light and no one will care outside of the conferences themselves. It would just be a matter of time before the networks started pulling in the spending reigns and the whole thing falls apart. Right now you have lots of casual fans across the country tuning in to watch. That will more than likely disappear. In fact, I believe that all the other conferences left will demand that they take all of their other sports with them. That would be a death blow for the so-called “Power 2” League. Not to mention the hundreds of lawsuits they will get from antitrust. They would end up spending their life in court settling suits.

At this point, I don’t see that happening any longer. I think legislation will be worked out eventually to accommodate everyone and we can get back to some kind of normal in athletics. At least I hope so.

SOURCES: @GCU_Baseball is set to announce Jacksonville State's Steve Bieser as its newest head coach, I'm told. Bieser has done an excellent job at JSU and will have a lot of resource at his disposal at GCU. This is an excellent hire by the Lopes.

Sources: @MoStateBSB pitching coach Deck McGuire will not return to the program in 2027, and the Bears are expected to hire Cale Johnson as their new pitching coach. Johnson spent the last three seasons as the PC at Dallas Baptist. He's headed to Missouri State.

Supportive letters were sent Sunday from the Big 12 and ACC commissioners to Sens. Ted Cruz & Maria Cantwell.

A hearing is scheduled for Wednesday before the Senate Commerce Committee on their bill - arguably the most significant hearing in the NCAA's 7-year lobbying effort.
