@brownecfm While my scientific/medical knowledge is limited compared to yours (which is why I follow you and others here) as soon as I read about anosmia I assumed it meant affects the brain and began doing all possible to avoid infection. Still living that way currently
@brownecfm Absolutely agree
My daughter is a referral coordinator in a lg healthcare system, doing referrals from primary to specialty care
Cardiology, pulmonary, endocrine, rheumatology, neuropsych
All overwhelmed
Common denominator, hx of Covid in all age groups, pts unaware of link
@brownecfm I’m immunocompromised.
I can’t risk further diminishing my health.
Masking and avoiding crowded spaces doesn’t bother me at all.
Haven’t had any type of illness since 2018
@brownecfm@Sanfranpixie Thank you a thousand times for reinforcing what I know and always practice personally, but feel alone doing. Even immediate family members aren't necessarily supportive, so I appreciate your knowledgeable stance !
@kristatee@TheRealRhllor Two reasons! There was a strong Quaker presence on island which believed all have an equal voice and more practically, in the whaling era, many men were gone for years at a time and women played a larger role.
@TheRealRhllor My childhood New England Congregational minister had been a Navy chaplain at Annapolis earlier in his career.
This was 1963-68. He welcomed everyone, married Catholics who’d been divorced and sometimes ministered on the golf course all b/c of his Navy experiences
@michaelmina_lab@AmeshAA Exactly! I might be one of very few parents who actually educated my children about all of the vaccines when they were old enough to understand, always stressing the benefits of vaccination and how fortunate we are to have them. Two of them now work in healthcare.
