@CarlaFlogan When I met with him and asked if he stands behind and supports Moe and Cockrill with their continued cuts to supports and opportunities for students and vilifying teachers he said yes.
@tammyrobert@rinkburgers And there is ZERO logistics on how to do this or the funding to support locking $400-$1000 phones away. What about the time it takes to collect and the more time it takes to accurately give phones back? Asking teachers how to best do this would have been a good thing.
@tammyrobert It’s interesting how there’s 0 mention how it’ll be enforced. I bet the gov’t never thought about tchrs not going to be responsible for a class of 30-45 phones 4x/day. Who’ll cover cost of phones going missing? If tchrs have to collect does that count against instructional time?
@jeremycockrill You are disappointing! My children and my students deserve to NOT continue to lose opportunities and supports and you want that to continue. You also need to STOP talking like you speak for teachers. You are a disappointment.
@TallDanG@CarlaFlogan I’m a constituent & met w/ him 2 weeks ago. He’s great @ not answering q’s/m but jumped on chance to say how much he has done to build schools. He wouldn’t even answer my q’s about why he forwarded my emails to Ed. Minister that were direct q’s to him. He’s not fighting for ed!
@CommonsensePaul I will be voting “no” b/c my daughters have lost supports & opportunities every year they have been in school. If this passes they will graduate w/ continued loss of supports & opportunities. This is sad and unforgivable. I’ll stand up for my daughters’ & my students’ education
I will be voting more from my position as a parent than as a tchr w/ 20yrs experience,w/a wife who’s a tchr, & 2 generations of tchrs before me…if this contract passes my children will cont’ to see decreases in supports/opportunities for remainder of their education = “no” vote
@dragonfly_jenny@graysonbeaudin I will be voting more from my position as a parent than as a tchr w/ 20yrs experience,w/a wife who’s a tchr, & 2 generations of tchrs before me…if this contract passes my children will cont’ to see decreases in supports/opportunities for remainder of their education = “no” vote
If I was a betting man I would put money on a bet that the Moe/Cockrill play in the current bargaining with teachers is invoking this section of the Saskatchewan Employment Act. A supervised vote of the government’s last offer. If so, teachers should reject it.
In 2017, the Sask Party took full control of public ed in Sk. The elected school board reps have no power and zero autonomy.
With the help of school board officials, we’ve downloaded the cost of public ed onto parents, which allows us to give tax breaks to corporate donors.
Trustees have been embarrassingly ineffective at securing education funding.
Any who work against teachers as they attempt to rectify this situation should expect to be replaced in the next election.
The latest buzz from govt is to put a classroom complexity funding guarantee into the Education Act.
FYI:
****The Education Act has been amended almost every year since it was proclaimed in 1995, to the point that now 125 of its 425 sections have been repealed…. 1/3
When it comes to public education spending, you can trust us. We plan to embed an accountability framework into the Education Act, requiring us to meet our commitments to public education.
We created similar legislation requiring us to pass balanced budgets, which we repealed.
It was great to attend @citynb State of the City Address this week. Good things can be accomplished when we work together - examples like the old SLGA store becoming additional space for the RCMP and planning money for @NWRCollege.
Thank you to Mayor Gillan for his service to our community and best wishes for whatever is next for him personally. I have appreciated working with him over the last several years.
Today, I joined Premiers Furey, Higgs & Smith in calling on Trudeau to convene a First Ministers’ meeting on the carbon pricing rebate. I hate that residents get a rebate!
I need a big distraction & intend to rage farm my voter base to blame Trudeau for my dumpster fire.

We are deeply disappointed that the teachers of Saskatchewan have stood together in solidarity with their union.
We had hoped that the public would turn on teachers pressuring them to give up.
We’re committed to easy slogans and fake funding announcements.

Join me on state radio for our weekly parade of nonsense.
I’ll give a soft ball “interview,” which is really a paid ad.
I’ll say I’m fighting for you, but I’ll be fulfilling funding obligations to our sponsors.
Remember, Wild West donation laws hold us in power.

Teachers asked for one line. Instead, government refused to include *their own accountability framework* in the teacher contract.
It's clear: This government has no interest in funding public education.
Tell government/SSBA their actions are unacceptable: https://t.co/NxcBEFQzR5
We take our obligations to our donors seriously. That’s why we work every day to break our public services so they can be sold off to our corporate donors.
Our goal is to make rich people richer under the illusion of making services cheaper and better.
