Once settled, the Eidolon returned to him, and he and Myers exchanged temporary goodbyes as she headed off to a new mission, one that was beyond the Alliance's reach...
The Systems Alliance had come to a crawl when the leak happened as it shut down and investigated itself. Many corrupted officials either voluntarily stepped down or were forcibly expunged from their position.
In the four months that followed the leak, he facilitated the transitioning of many personnel, and personally assigned them to different ships and missions. As a result, the Alliance became more respectful of its core qualities and shut down many controversial experiments.
Four long months passed since the Paladins intervened at the Citadel. In that time, Liara observed and participated in change, and transition toward a brighter future for Citadel Space and beyond.
@N7Phantom -Alenko returned the gesture, then helped her lay again-
Now let's get you back to the hospital, because you're a hot mess right now.
-Mason headed off to arrange transportation for her-
@N7Phantom That's not happening anytime soon, I'm afraid. I went AWOL to command the Falchion Rangers, and that doesn't look good for politics.
It'll get sorted, in time...but for now, you're still the captain of my ship.
@N7Phantom You survived. That's all there is to it. No fate, no destiny, just your duty. That's just how the battle turned out, and there isn't much more than that.
@N7Phantom At ease, Myers. In the condition you're in, my grandmother could give me a better salute than you could.
-Alenko took Yang's chair and adjusted it before taking the seat-
You look like you took a hard fall.
@GumshoeMan -They set their arms to their sides-
Myers is in the auditorium. I was on my way to speak to her, but I need to coordinate a few things first. Soften her up for me, will you? She left the hospital to see you, after all.
The Falchion agents that survived all approached him as he touched down outside of C-SEC. They stripped the Falchion Rangers insignia from their uniforms, then saluted him. With a slow, silent nod, Mason saluted them back, dismissed them, and caught @GumshoeMan passing by...
@GumshoeMan You did good, son. You've come a long way from that hotheaded ex-cop Myers brought on board my ship. In all respects, you're a soldier, and your mission is complete.
-Mason raised his arm for a crisp salute-
@Junacall I understand. Take pride in what you've accomplished, and look to the future.
-Mason righted himself and gave her a crisp salute. Once she returned it, he walked off to address other matters-
With the Citadel arms open and the outside fleet decimated from superior tactics, Mason was free to dock his ship alongside the Eidolon onto the nearest ward. All crews had split off to assist anyone in need at C-SEC HQ and beyond the Presidium...
@Junacall Paperwork and system checks, an engineer's worst nightmare. That and bugs in codes, of course. Well, I'm sure she'll be back soon. You two grew close, and I'm glad you found a friend in her.
The Paladins and their remaining fleet converged on the Citadel, ready to hit the remaining Rinzler ships head on. The battle would be tough, but thanks to Liara, they had the codes they needed to get access into the Citadel as the space battle continued to rage on.
