America is made up of different cultures, different backgrounds, different religious beliefs, and of all walks of life, and above all the "freedom of choice of lifestyle, of beliefs!!!" It means "you do you!" You keep your life choices, and allow others to keep their, separate and apart from those who do not share you life choices; religious beliefs, but "we," are bonded for a common good of those rights and those freedoms, in that, and only that "we" are one nation, one people, one voice of, and only of "FREEDOM!!!"

The God Your Master
Luke 16:13

Our heart has one throne— and only one can sit on it. We cannot obey two voices nor follow two directions. Divided loyalty always leads to spiritual instability. Jesus teaches that our heart follows our master. Our affections reveal our allegiance. Our actions reveal which master we have chosen. God must be the only Master. He alone deserves our trust, obedience, and dependence. Begin our day with intentional surrender. Choose obedience over convenience. Reject anything that pulls your heart away. Practice generosity to break material attachment. Encourage someone else to put God first

Prayer
Lord, thank You for being the God who deserves our full devotion. Remove every competing master from our heart. Help us serve You with loyalty, love, and obedience. You alone are our Master—lead us today. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

That is what San Francisco Superior Court Judge Linda Colfax said when she let Antoine Watson walk.

In January 2021, then-19-year-old Watson ran across the street in Anza Vista and slammed 84-year-old Vicha Ratanapakdee—“Grandpa Vicha”—to the ground. The shove was caught on video. The Thai grandfather hit his head, never woke up, and died two days later. The footage helped ignite the Stop Asian Hate movement.

A jury later acquitted Watson of murder and elder abuse. It convicted him of involuntary manslaughter and assault, plus aggravating factors because the victim was over 70 and left comatose.

In March 2026 Colfax imposed an eight-year sentence, then immediately suspended most of it. Watson had already done about five years in county jail. The rest? Probation. Therapy. Check-ins. Go live with his mother. Colfax said prison would have a “poor impact” on him, cited his childhood trauma and PTSD, and said public safety was better served by keeping him out.

Vicha’s daughter, Monthanus Ratanapakdee, said she did not get justice for her father. District Attorney Brooke Jenkins called the outcome “troubling.” The man who shoved an 84-year-old to his death is not in state prison. The judge decided the attacker’s “impact” mattered more than the one the victim never recovered from.
