UPDATE on coronavirus (#COVID19) testing in the UK:
As of 9am on 14 March, a total of 37,746 have been tested:
36,606 negative
1140 positive
Across the UK, 21 patients who tested positive for coronavirus (COVID-19) have sadly died.
Yesterday we entered the Delay phase of our #COVID_19uk Action Plan. @UKScienceChief explained why this is important.
It allows us to #FlattenTheCurve, which means reducing the impact in the short-term to ensure our health & care system can effectively protect vulnerable people
Included in the above figures are 12 further cases in England.
Following previously reported confirmed cases in Northern Ireland, Wales and Scotland, the total number of UK cases is 51.
All are being investigated and contact tracing has begun.
