After trading Nurse & signing Shea, Kapanen, Jones, Joseph & Andersen, the #LetsGoOilers have $6.4M Projected Cap Space with 23 active players (14F/6D/3G)
RFA: Dach, Stastney, Mukhamadullin
With the max active roster of 23, they could create more space by sending down some of the players on the projected roster

Frank Seravalli stands by his concession report regarding Bouchard on the Kevin Karius show. Says with 100% certainty Bouchard showed concussion-like symptoms after the playoffs and Bowman might have lied
This is disastrous for Edmonton. 2 head injuries in a month #LetsGoOilers
Evan Bouchard led NHL defencemen with 95 points, besting runner-up Werenski by 14 points.
His season total is tied for the 21st highest for a d-man in NHL history- and the third highest total since 1992.
Evan Bouchard lowkey has 95 points. That’s more than
- Sidney Crosby
- Kirill Kaprizov
- Kyle Connor
- Jack Eichel
- Jack Hughes
- Artemi Panarin
WITH! good D stats.
and they’re going to give the Norris to a guy who led his team to a historic choke on a playoff spot 😭😭
Norris Trophy Candidate Evan Bouchard (1-1-2, +2) scores the GWG in OT -20th goal of the season as the @EdmontonOilers win a Playoff-Style game 4-3 (OT) in Vegas.
Connor Ingram-26 saves, 4 vs the 5th ranked VGK PP in OT.
Connor McDavid 1-2-3, and gets his 800th career assist.
Watch closely and you can see Draisaitl isn’t bending his left knee as much as his right
This video + injury video + report of no surgery needed and it very well could be an MCL injury. Grade 1 and he’s for sure good for game 1 playoffs, if grade 2 it’s still quite likely
I recognize this interview caused about 1,000 heart attacks...but as I understand it, Draisaitl's current timeline has not changed.
The expectation right now is he's out until the end of the regular season.
This, by the way, is the same doctor Auston Matthews visited a year ago.
"Bouchard should merit consideration to win the Norris... He's been the best defenceman in the league since December 1."
@Bob_Stauffer joins @MattyMar89 and @FutaMichael to outline Evan Bouchard's case for the Norris Trophy.
Where does #LetsGoOilers Evan Bouchard belong on a Norris Trophy ballot?
@Bob_Stauffer makes a compelling case.

Evan Bouchard having a 9 point lead over the 2nd highest scoring defenseman and still not being mentioned in Norris conversation needs to be studied. @EdmontonOilers
For those asking, Oilers can't send Jarry to minors for Pickard. Only players who were on AHL roster before trade deadline are eligible to be sent down to AHL after trade deadline.
EDM can recall Pickard, but would have to send a skater down to make room and carry three goalies.
We all have biases and first impressions impact our views of players. It is difficult to change how we see a player. A bad start is hard to overcome, while a good start keep player in good books
In October:
Makar had 17 pts in 12 GP and was +14.
Hutson had 10 pts in 11 GP and was +11
Werenski had 8 pts in 10 GP and was +9
Q. Hughes had 7 pts in 9 GP and was -1
Bouchard had 7 pts in 12 GP and was -9.
Since November 1st:
Makar has 43 pts in 46 GP and is +15.
Hutson has 49 pts in 48 GP and is +20
Hughes has 52 pts in 42 GP and is -2.
Werenski has 57 pts in 44 GP and is -1
Bouchard has 62 pts in 49 GP and is +23
You can also look at GF% overall, which I think is important to not just look at 5x5, since much higher percentage of goals/TOI come on special teams. D-men on PK and PP impact overall game even more. Fun discussion, but no question pre-conceived notions on players impact how we view them, good or bad.
