@stevenmwright Hence our additional explanation. We are not saying that certain things need to have happened in order for a request for an EHC needs assessment to be made - we are just explaining what that means for provision to be made through an EHC plan.
@stevenmwright The DfE states: ‘An education, health and care (EHC) plan is for children and young people aged up to 25 who need more support than is available through special educational needs support.’ Children with SEND: Extra help - https://t.co/bXyEX8Ipwu (https://t.co/iHeNo0xcRy)
@stevenmwright@suffolkcc@IPSEAcharity@sos_sen This part of the recording is referring to advice that settings can access if a pupil is still struggling. All local authorities will have some services to support settings to support pupils with SEN and here we’re explaining what services Suffolk provides.
@stevenmwright When there is a request for an EHCNA, the LA seeks information from the setting and family only, circumstances afterwards can change (eg new report becomes available). You may be thinking about the wider LA duty to seek advice and information once an EHCNA has been agreed.
@stevenmwright@suffolkcc Hello, The information we provide is based in the law. A pre-recording of this webinar is available on YouTube. https://t.co/mlmXf8XZf8
