Flat tax to get rid of the messy tax code. Then let people decide how their taxes are spent. IRS runs a website in which we can log on at anytime to distribute our taxes as we see fit amongst the different organizations. Not only do all the government agencies and departments have to compete with each other for our money, but approved private charitable organizations should be included on the "list" as well.
Clean and simple. This would go a long way to end fraud and government waste. Competition will breed efficiency and a Government that serves the peoples desires instead of its own. We never should have instituted an Income tax in the first place, but if we have to have one, we should at least make it as Freedom loving as possible.

Specifically, Direct Democracy only works with small homogenous groups of people who share a common interest. As the population grows the complexity of governance makes Direct Democracy practically impossible.
As more diversity (in thought, interests, or demographics) are introduced to the community, it begins to breakdown and the only viable option is a Representative Republic. Ironically this is one of many falsies of Socialism. Those who want Socialism are also proponents of "diversity," but they are fundamentally incompatible with each another.
This is a low IQ argument backed up by historical ignorance, and a bad case of Dunning-Kruger. Do you really think the Founding Fathers were so stupid that they didn't realize technology would improve?
They themselves had benefited and invested in improving firearm technology. One of many examples; The British often complained about American Militiamen having better rifles and using them in unconventional warfare tactics.
The founders own letters and correspondence make clear that the intent of the Second Amendment was for all civilians to have access to the same weaponry as standing military, in order to effectively fight against tyrannical governments. That is '"Originalism."'
Don't buy into the "Horseshoe" model. While no ideological model is perfect, the Horseshoe purposefully creates an unbridgeable gap between the two extremes which does not exist.
The best model is a "Sphere" not only is there a horizontal axis, but there is a vertical axis as well. Importantly there is no clear division between the "extremes." It is quite easy to go from Communism to Fascism for example (Mussolini, brown shirts, etc..), or vice versa (Which the horseshoe model suggests is impossible).
Even the "Sphere" isn't perfect however, as it creates an interesting situation where it's hard to tell if Fascism is to the right or left of Communism, based on perspective. In my opinion it's better to look at each individual argument and put them on a sliding scale from "Radical <---> Reactionary." A Radical opinion generally being considered "left" and Reactionary opinion, "Right."
@Mrgunsngear ...But I was told by passionate gun control advocates (who are clearly firearm and ballistics experts), that we don't need "large Capacity Magazines."
But Seriously, assuming HST, got to kind of admire that guys tenacity as well as the officers discipline.
Sorry for your loss, but what does that have to do with Magazine capacity or Firearm knowledge? If true, it sounds like a failure of the Justice System, not a gun issue.
Personally, I'd avoid anecdotal fallacies. Especially, since there are a lot of people out here who have seen some real shit.
@CentristDan@Hickenlooper You claimed to be a gun owner, but then said "large capacity magazines," "Nine Shells," and "15 for an AR-15."
You instantly lost any creditability.
Then the Lord said to Moses, “Go down, because your people, whom you brought up out of Egypt, have become corrupt. They have been quick to turn away from what I commanded them and have made themselves an idol cast in the shape of a calf. They have bowed down to it and sacrificed to it and have said, ‘These are your gods, Israel, who brought you up out of Egypt.'" -Exodus 32:7-8
My initial January 6th prosecutor Patrick Scruggs has been sentenced after being charged with three felonies for stabbing a man that could have ended any life sentence. You won't believe what just happened.
In a 2025 @UncKnowledge interview, Fed Chair nominee Kevin Warsh pushed back against the idea that inflation is primarily driven by external shocks like the pandemic or the war in Ukraine.
Drawing on the legacy of Milton Friedman, Warsh argued that inflation stems from decisions by the Federal Reserve, and that the responsibility for price stability lies squarely with the central bank.

Síntomas de que estás enfermo de SOCIALISMO:
Saludos 🫡
I hate to say it, but most of what we learned in our social studies/history/government classes in school is BS, and it's been that way for a long time. The majority is either factually incorrect, complete fabrication, or a tiny slice of one-sided information from a complicated topic. The result is we grow up never questioning these "facts" or learning to think critically about them. It's a massive societal problem and it's only getting worse.
Some of this can be attributed to lack of expertise from our teachers or publishers, but this particular example is so comically bad, it can only be called Indoctrination.
Trump threatens to quit NATO.
We spend $300 billion a year defending Europe — including their war in Ukraine. But when we need them they don’t lift a finger.
What it would take to leave.
