The postal system in Juba was still working till the end of 2011. We used to receive letters from Khartoum and even Kenya & Uganda (albeit 3-4 weeks late for the international mail).
4. Bari

One of the most well-known and main Bari attires is the Lowa, or "Perida" in Rutan Bari. Women of all ages wear it, especially during celebrations. The Lowa is made of cotton material and sometimes hints of silk in a variety of colors.
3. Nuer

Beads and lawa (the long cloth tied around) are very important in the Naath community and are worn for important occasions such as weddings, initiations, and other significant community ceremonies.
2. Acholi
This is a modernized Acholi attire named “Maarina”, mostly worn during dances by girls & women.

Back in the day before clothing was introduced, the Acholi wore leaves and animal skin. Cyeno (pronounced Chi-ye-no) for women and Layam’okwe for men.

Tondura and Lawu worn by Mundari girls and Women. Although this attire is worn by other ethnic groups like the Dinka, its famously known as an attire for the Mundari women and girls.
