Today, we hada meeting about finally leaving ICU 😭

The first time anything has been said that ISNT emotionally debilitating. Im so incredibly proud of my baby girl. She is SUCH a fighter... SO MUCH that she was recognized as such, early on.

Some news we had waited to share (pending circumstances)

After a week of being in the ICU we were contacted by the president of the UFC, Dana White, he'd offered maya full paid medical in one of the world's most top tier hospitals in LA California.

Edit: He hass also offered to pay for a place to stay.

Its incredible really. I would have never thought this is where this would go. Im finally excited to see her become the best version of who she can ne through all this.

For anyone who watches UFC, they put my babes name in the ring.

The childrens hospital has an extensive brain truama clinic and more resources. However, Maya hadn't been stable enough to travel. Until now.

Providing nothing serious happens between now and Monday. We may finally start looking towards a future for my girls...

Alberta is pleased to see that today President Donald Trump has decided to refrain from imposing tariffs on Canadian goods at this time as they study the issue further. 

We appreciate the implied acknowledgement that this is a complex and delicate issue with serious implications for American and Canadian workers, businesses and consumers given the integration of our markets along with our critical energy and security partnership. 

Avoiding tariffs will save hundreds of thousands of Canadian and American jobs across every sector. As an example, declining to impose U.S. tariffs on Canadian energy will preserve the viability of dozens of U.S. refineries and facilities that upgrade Alberta crude and the tens of thousands of Americans employed by them. 

Despite the promising news today, the threat of U.S. tariffs is still very real. As a country, we need to immediately take the following steps to preserve and strengthen our economic and security partnership with the United States, and to avoid the future imposition of tariffs:

1. Focus on diplomacy and refrain from further talk of retaliatory measures including export tariffs or cutting off energy to the U.S.. Having spoken with the President, as well as dozens of Governors, Senators, members of Congress and allies of the incoming administration, I am convinced that the path to a positive resolution with our U.S. allies is strong and consistent diplomacy and working in good faith towards shared priorities. The worst possible response to today’s news would be the Federal Government or Premiers declaring “victory” or escalating tensions with unnecessary threats against the United States;

2. Negotiate ways to increase what Canadians and Americans buy from one another. As an example, the United States should look at purchasing more oil, timber and agricultural products from Canada, while Canada should look at purchasing more gas turbines, military equipment and the computer hardware needed to build our growing A.I. data centre sector. Finding ways to increase trade in both directions will be critical to achieving a win-win for both countries;

3. Double down on border security. Within the next month, all border provinces should either by themselves, or in partnership with the federal government, deploy the necessary resources to secure our shared border from illegal drugs and migration;

4. Announce a major acceleration of Canada’s 2% of GDP NATO target. This is clearly a shared priority that benefits both of our nations. There is no excuse for further delay;

5. Crack down on immigration streams and loopholes that are known to permit individuals hostile to Canada and the United States to enter our country, and restore immigration levels and rules to those under former Prime Minister Stephen Harper; and

6. Immediately repeal all federal anti-energy policies (production cap, CERs, C-69) and fast track northern gateway and energy east projects pre-approvals.

This is what happens when a Prime Minister spends 9 years pushing toxic woke identity politics, dividing and subdividing people by race, gender, vaccine status, religion, region, age, wealth, etc.

On top of driving people apart, you systematically break what used to bring us together, saying Canada is a “post-national state” with “no core identity.”

You erased our veterans and military, the Famous Five and even Terry Fox from our passport to replace them with meaningless squirrels, snowflakes and a drawing of yourself swimming as a boy.

And, while you were dancing, Montreal was burning.

I have issued the following statement with Minister of Environment and Protected Areas Rebecca Schulz on the federal government’s proposed methane emissions regulations:

The federal government has unilaterally established new methane emissions rules and targets to help win international headlines. Instead of building on Alberta’s award-winning approach, Ottawa wants to replace it with costly, dangerous and unconstitutional new federal regulations that won’t benefit anyone beyond Environment and Climate Change Minister Steven Guilbeault’s post-office career.

Managing emissions from Alberta’s oil and gas industry is our constitutional right and responsibility, not Ottawa’s, and we are getting the job done. Using a province-led approach, Alberta has already reduced methane emissions from the oil and gas sector by 45 per cent – hitting our target three years early – and we’re just getting started.

Meanwhile, not only is it illegal for Ottawa to attempt to regulate our industries in this manner, Ottawa hasn’t even hit one of its past arbitrary and unscientific emissions targets largely because it has little to no credible expertise regulating the natural resource, agricultural and other industry sectors in this space.

Ottawa could have helped us keep reducing emissions with joint incentive programs in line with Alberta’s Emissions Reduction and Energy Development Plan. It could have listened to the Supreme Court’s declaration that the Impact Assessment Act was unconstitutional and abandoned this kind of arrogant and ineffective scheme. Instead, these new regulations threaten our successful province-led approach and impede good work that’s already underway.

Once again, the federal government is setting unrealistic targets and timelines. Infrastructure can only be updated as quickly as technology allows. For example, Alberta will not accept nor impose a total ban on flaring at this time, as it is a critical health and safety practice during production. Any regulation that completely prohibits this is putting lives at risk. A total ban would also be costly, resulting in shut-ins and loss of production.

This approach will also cost tens of billions in infrastructure upgrades, yet Ottawa has provided virtually no financial support to do so. Thousands of Albertans could be put out of work in the coming years due to these costly regulations. A federal government willing to invest $37.7 billion into just three battery plants in Ontario and Quebec cannot credibly refuse to provide tax credits and financial incentives for producers in Alberta and Saskatchewan to assist with achieving a carbon-neutral economy by 2050.

For years, Alberta, not Ottawa, has done the hard work and achieved results. We strongly support reducing methane emissions and have invested tens of millions into developing these technologies. Minister Guilbeault must work with us, and not against us, to keep cutting methane emissions and charting a course for carbon neutrality by 2050.

Given the unconstitutional nature of this latest federal intrusion into our provincial jurisdiction, our government will use every tool at our disposal to ensure these absurd federal regulations are never implemented in our province.
