The demand for a 5 Day Work Week in banks is not new. It already stands agreed upon in the Bipartite Settlement of March 2024. What remains is its long-pending implementation.

At the same time, the unilateral and discriminatory PLI system must be abolished and replaced with a fair, transparent and inclusive framework for all employees, recognising the collective effort behind every institution’s performance.

Hardworking bank employees are not asking for privilege. They are asking for implementation of an agreement and equality in reward.

A big shout out to the Coimbatore Forest Division team,Tamil Nadu which worked 24*7 to revive a sick wild Female elephant found lying in lateral recumbency position unable to get up. It was heartbreaking to see her 3 months old baby roaming around her in distress. The team has lifted the elephant with a crane to make her stand and provided all necessary treatment. Mother elephant is doing well and her baby is happily feeding. Though the elephant is doing well,we need to watch out for her health. A very heartening news is coming in just now about the successful rescue and reunion of a juvenile elephant in Tamil Nadu. Tamil Nadu Foresters in Gudalur Forest Division in Nilgiris have successfully rescued a juvenile elephant from a 30 feet deep sand well in a farmland where the young elephant had accidentally fallen.After 8 hours of challenging battle the team succeeded in making a ramp for the elephant to safely walk out of the well. After the rescue the team united the baby elephant with her mother who patiently waited nearby with the herd. Big appreciation to DFO Gudalur, Vengatesh Prabhu who led the operation with a team of 40 people from 3 am onwards #TNForest #wildliferescue #elephants
