Our @SamaritansPurse Emergency Field Hospital, equipped with two operating rooms, 56 patient beds, a critical care unit, pharmacy, and laboratory is up and running in La Guaira, Venezuela, where two major earthquakes left catastrophic damage. More than 1,700 people have died and thousands of families have been displaced. Many are in desperate need of medical care and today we were able to begin seeing patients. Pray for all of those who are suffering and our teams as they serve in Jesus’ Name.

Yesterday, Chargé d’Affaires John M. Barrett toured USS Fort Lauderdale in La Guaira alongside Captain Jiwan Mack. Sent by #SOUTHCOM, this vessel has a long history of providing humanitarian support. It is delivering specialized mobility services and supporting search and rescue teams as they assess the damage, locate the injured, and deliver critical life-saving assistance.

Today’s update:
☑️ @usairforce C-17 Globemaster cargo aircraft are delivering a U.S. Marine Combat Logistics Company that will bring heavy equipment, engineering assets, water purification capabilities, and more.

☑️ Air Force C-17s and C-130 Hercules cargo aircraft continue airlift support.

☑️ The Contingency Response Element (CRE) and a U.S. military Airfield Assessment Team are assisting the Venezuelan government, local aviation authorities, and the U.S. interagency response team with safely expanding the flow of inbound and outbound air traffic at key airports near the epicenter.

☑️ @USMC MV-22 Ospreys continue moving personnel and assistance across the nation.

☑️ The @USNavy's USS Fort Lauderdale is at the Port of La Guaira delivering critically needed supplies and equipment.

☑️ U.S. Marine Corps UH-1Y Venom helicopters are supporting aerial assessments.
