Our @SamaritansPurse Emergency Field Hospital, equipped with two operating rooms, 56 patient beds, a critical care unit, pharmacy, and laboratory is up and running in La Guaira, Venezuela, where two major earthquakes left catastrophic damage. More than 1,700 people have died and thousands of families have been displaced. Many are in desperate need of medical care and today we were able to begin seeing patients. Pray for all of those who are suffering and our teams as they serve in Jesus’ Name.
Under President Trump’s leadership, the United States is fully mobilizing to support the people of Venezuela in the aftermath of these devastating earthquakes. @StateDept is working around the clock as we lead a massive response, supported by the @DeptofWar, to deploy urban search‑and‑rescue teams, critical relief supplies, emergency medical capabilities, and advanced technical support.
The interim authorities have fully complied to accelerate this massive humanitarian response. As our Chief of Mission continues to lead the efforts to mobilize U.S. and international responders to reach communities in need, reopen vital infrastructure, and deliver life‑saving assistance we remain determined in our commitment to stand with the Venezuelan people.
A DSS Mobile Security Deployments team is on the ground in Venezuela — delivering site and personnel security, communications and mobility support, and enhanced situational awareness to U.S. urban search and rescue teams from Fairfax County, Los Angeles, and Miami as part of the Trump Administration's rapid, life-saving assistance mission.
